I just bought the Gateway MX6442. Im going to be taking it to school soon, and so far for everything I have tryed out works awesome. It has plenty of power for gaming, as well as word processing, and burning CD's and DVD's! It is only about 6 pounds, and has a very vivid screen.

Be careful with the Dells - there's been a recall on the batteries. I've heard good things about Acer and HP for laptops.
