I try to floss every day, but the reason for flossing is not really for cavity reduction -- the main reason is to reduce the growth of bacteria at the gum line and between your teeth. If you disturb the bacteria and remove some of them by flossing they don't grow as fast.
Bacteria at the gum lines and between the teeth can cause cavities, but mostly gum disease (periodontal disease) this gradually causes your gums to recede and your TEETH TO LOOSEN!

I usually floss twice a day if not more and I brush my teeth at least two to three times a day. Right now, I have 2 small cavities between teeth, which I will go to the dentist to fix next month.

I think flossing helps against gingivitis, plaque and tartar build up, not cavities, that's where proper brushing comes in.
I floss once a week and have had a couple cavities. Also, some people have weaker teeth that can be more susceptible to cavities than others.

it is common on your gums to bleed while they have not been in solid shape. right this is what i could do: be sure you sweep your tooth two times an afternoon ok for like a week (no longer asserting you do no longer try this, even with the shown fact that that's substantial) and don't floss this week in any respect. Then the subsequent week, floss as quickly as an afternoon, like once you're brushing earlier mattress. Then the subsequent week floss whenever you sweep, morning and evening. this style you ease your self into it. they're going to possibly nonetheless bleed before everything, yet with time they're going to end and your tooth would be healthful. If the bleeding keeps which you should to ask your dentist approximately it.

I don't floss that often, because I have braces, and it's harder. But I brush twice a day, and I've never had a cavity.
