Simple.
Your approach to men has attracted only those who wait for the opposite sex to make the first move!
You have to change your modus operandi to attract the other type. With the one you are interested in, you have accept him as he is.

A little of both. Nowadays women have no problem with shooting down a nice guy and embarrassing him regardless of where they are. So guys have switched to letting the woman make the first move(s) just to make sure that she is in fact interested. Once they are sure of the fact then they will take a more active role in the relationship or in starting a relationship. Then again some are just lazy...want it to look like the girl is chasing them. Kinda like a stud thing I guess you can say.

Like everything else, some are some are not, everything is 50/50, if not then you have chose the wrong dude! Girl, look again, men and women both, are like busses, every 15 minutes another one comes along!

Actually -- most men are insecure, and afraid of rejection. It's not an ego thing or anything like that; once a guy's confidence is built up (the timing is different for each guy) then it should "balance out". Of course there are men who *are* exceptions to this rule, sounds like you just haven't met them or they aren't your type! :-)

Guys in the age group you describe might be taken aback by a young woman who has this "directness" about her. Older fellas think it's pretty cool but it takes a little "mileage" to get confident in yourself and your abilities as a male.

Sorry, hon. It may be that he just isn't THAT into you. Guys generally (not always) are often a little put-off by an advancing woman. If she is too forward, she may come across as clingy or needy. Back off..but just a little...let him chase you now that he knows you're interested.

I would guess a mixture of the 3. Every guy is at least one. I for one, am extremely lazy.

Maybe he has had some bad experiences, maybe he likes you being in charge or he figures that if he starts something and goes to far he might think that you dont like it or might get mad, maybe hes unsure of himself.. talk to him about it and see what he says... Good Luck

insecure and shy, most of the time guys just get shot down, so why bother even trying when most of the time its just a rejection waiting to happen

Insecure is more like it. Guys don't wanna say or do anything that will embarrass them or put them down in any way...thats why they don't approach girls as often because they fear rejection.
