I don't consider I drink too much coffee, at least relatively speaking. I almost don't drink coffee for the first about 30 yrs of my life. Only 1 cup to cause the smell.
And how does homeopathy relate to this?

because caffine in coffee is so strong it is not filtered completely in the kidneys, and the odor comes out in the urine. as with various other things ppl eat or drink. as for how a homeopathic dr may help..well, they can tell you of certain clenses, or advise you on a remedy to take that may help with the problem.

As stated in other answers certain compounds in coffee enter the blood stream but are not metabolized. Instead they head straight to the kidneys. However, it isn't the smell of caffeine since caffeine is odorless.

Coffee smell in urine is related to the breakdown of caffeine and caffeine-related substances. It doesn't mean you're sick but rather it is the normal process of removing the caffeine from the blood.

Your body reacts to almost everything that goes into it...tastes ,smell, etc.
If you eat beets, your urine will have a purplish tint to it..if you can believe that.
Sperm sometimes takes on the taste of what the male has eaten before...umm....anyway...

Wow! I drink at least a pot of coffee a day and that has never happened to me before. Garlic is a different story! Not to imply that I have nothing better to do all day than to eat odd things then sniff my pee!

Its genetic that you can smell it. 1 in 4 people have it. If you do not believe me, go get some asparagus and eat it (cooked or raw). See what happens. THEN see if your wife, signifigant other, roomate or whatever does if you dont flush the toilet. If they just complain about the smell that you WILL notice-they dont have the gene.
Ben Franklin offered a remedy for asparagus season. He wanted people to eat pine sap to cover the odor. A lot of people thaught he was nuts-but now we know why.
