I am type O- and my husband is AB+ and the baby is type B- and we have always wondered if my husband is the father or this other guy is, i wont go into details as to why this has happened. I just need some help, figuring out who is the biological father but i really think it is the other guy.

yes you can determin paternity through blood type!!!!

A child inherits factors or genes from each parent that determine his blood type. This fact makes blood typing useful in paternity testing. To determine whether or not the alleged father could be the true father, the blood types of the child, mother, and alleged father are compared

Paternity testing compares the ABO blood types of the child, mother, and alleged father. The alleged father can't be the true father if the child's blood type requires a gene that neither he nor the mother have. For example, a child with blood type B whose mother has blood type O, requires a father with either AB or B blood type; a man with blood type O cannot be the true father.

Yes and no....yes in certain instances you can tell, such as say you have ab well if your partner was ab you could produce a child that had a ab or b typed blood. but if you were to have ab and your husband to have o there is a chance your baby to be born with any of the combinations so it could be your husbands...it's all in the gentic make up of what other typing was givin to your husband and the other guy, we know you are ab but what are they which you can't really tell. but technically the only way to tell is a dna test so no you can't but if the typing is just right then yes you could (and rh factor is a whole other story)

It could be his, but DNA is the only sure way to know.
the baby got the B from dad and the negative from you, but depending on the 3rd party's blood type, like if he was also a B or AB blood type, it wouldn't solve the paternity question. Good luck!

blood type cannot tell you who the father is...it can only tell you who the father isn't or who the father COULD be. Since you evidently don't know the other guy's blood type, you won't ever know for sure....have a DNA test if it is that important to you.

You can tell who is NOT the father. From your situation, it sounds like he might not be the father, but the onyl way to know for sure is to get a test, they are not too much money, and if you have too, you could even go on a talk show (though I could understand you not wanting too).

So, go get the test, if you want to know. No matter what, if he raises and loves the child, he is the father.

If your really interested in knowing who the father is go for an DNA test. But, if your husband been taking care of the child and love him/her as if its own. No matter what he is the father.

O form blood is recessive, AB blood skill the guy has the dominant A and dominant B gene, grossing oo and any danger will by no skill bring about AB because of the fact one o might desire to take delivery of and the offspring might desire to have an A and a B. so no, it may no longer ensue.

You need to have a DNA taken. That is the proper way to tell if he is the father or not. First you have to get them to agree to the test which might not be easy unless they both want to know. I wish you the best of luck Hope all works out for all concerned.

Sine your husband carries a B and so does the other guy, only DNA can tell you. If your daughter had been AO-, she'd definately be your husband's instead of the other guy. In my family its easy, we are all OO- except my husband who is OO+. Talk about easy! So do the DNA test and find out.

You can not tell it from Blood group. Only confirmatory test is DNA (Di-oxiribo Nuclic Acid - main constituent of Gene) test.

A man's paternal ancestry can be traced using the DNA on his Y chromosome (Y-DNA). This is particularly useful because the Y chromosome, like many European surnames, passes from father to son, and can be used to help study surnames.
