Heres something that can help you with the cost of that, no need to pay thru the nose. they are your teeth, you should be able to feel good about them.

You can get low cost work done at high quality dentists: There is a very in-expensive but high-quality dental plan that can help you with that. It doesnt pay 100%, but can save you signifcant money, and most dentists are good about taking payments if you at least have a plan of some sort. Another good thing is, unlike tradional insurance, everyone in the US qualifies for it (except alaska and montana) Read on:

mine were about 2000. i went to a good place not a chain dentist office (like Perfect Teeth). i dont think those are very good but they might be cheaper. i didnt need any special work done (that would raise the price) and after a while they do start charging you if they have to keep fixing them. retainer also add a lot if you lose or break them. one of mine broke (it wasnt even my fault! i only had had it for a couple months and one of the wires came loose) and they charged $150 to replace it!!! i know someone who lost their retainers 3 times...so breaking and loosing your orthodintics definetly can add up quick. i had braces several years ago so prices may be a little different and it varies from doctor to doctor.

it depends on how long you are going to have to wear them. i wore mine for 2 and a half years and they cost about $3,000. after that i payed $25 every 3 or 4 months when i had a checkup and retainer adjustment. after about a year and a half though, they stopped charging for adjustments. i now have been wearing my retainer and going for adjustments for 8 years. i mainly sleep in it.

but the longer you wear the braces, the more they'll cost. i'd guess at least $1,100 per year that you wear them.

Yes they are free but the NHS has recently got really strict. They usually only allow you to have the braces for free if your teeth are literally sticking out of your mouth, or if you have trouble talking or eating.
