This is a very tough question. I would suggest that you sit down with your boyfriend and your parents and discuss the pros / cons of the relationship. It could go good but then again, bad. I do not know your ages but if you two are very young, then I highly suggest meeting with your mom and dad. I know I would. You and your boyfriend need to find out what it is that your parents disapprove of and from there, as a group, work out the problems. My best of luck to you all!

to answer the first part of your question, parents are supposed to know whats best, but not exactly whats best for YOU. only you know what you want.

think about it this way. how many movies have you seen where the girl and boy are in love, and they run away together because their parents dont approve? a lot. so if you and him are in love, and you aren't underage, (meaning you're not a teenager and are considering a future together) then you need to talk to your parents about why you like him so much.

but on the other hand, if you ARE a teenager and you still have your life ahead of you, think about the reasons why your parents do not want you wtih this boy. is it because he does drugs or drinks or smokes? they obviously have a reason and you need to let them know that you want to hear it. be open-minded and realize that you may be too good for him.

What are the reasons your parents don't like your boyfriend? Sometimes others can see things we can't when we are blinded by love. Are you sure they aren't just worried about you? Your parents have been there for you for all your life... Now search deep down and ask yourself, Will my boyfriend be there for me no matter what?
And by the way, how long have you been dating?

If you are happy, your parents will naturally be happy. There should be some reason with your parents for not liking your boy friend whom you love. Clear the matter with mutual conversation.

I think is making my parents happy. if they are happy, i am sure happy. if they aren't, i won't be any happier.
i clearly would choose my parents over my bf.
for me, upsetting my parents over one man..? it's not worth it at all.

IT REALLY DEPEND ON THE AGES OF THE PEOPLE INVLOVED. IF YOU ARE OVER 18, THEN YOUR PARENTS
MAY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH HIM BECAUSE THE WAY HE
MAY TREAT YOU IF THERE IS A PROBLEM THERE, BUT
IF YOU LOVE HIM THEN THE PARENTS WILL HAVE TO
RESPECT YOUR DECISION IN THIS.

You have to make your own decisions...True we all want our parents to accept the one we've fallen for. Maybe they are just trying to protect you, in their eyes. But to you are the one who has to make that call.

its all about you, but usually the parents dont like them because they are worried about you, maybe they see him as a punk of sorts, otherwise they probably just wanted something else for you
