OK...I will tell you a little known bit of history. On July 22nd, 1943, PFC R.W. Jones while on board the USS Tiajuana accidently dropped his rifle overboard into the Pacific Ocean. His Plt. Sgt. witnessing the event told him to go and get it and not to come back without it. PFC Jones jumped into the water and as yet has not resurfaced with his rifle. It is assumed that both PFC Jones and his rifle are on the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. This is the only time in Marine Corps history that a marine has ever lost his rifle. True story.
P.S. It should be noted that having been wounded on Tarawa, Jones' arm was in a sling which may have played a role in him losing his grip on his rifle. However Jones was posthumously reduced in rank to PVT. as the Marine Corps sees no justifiable reason for any marine to ever lose his rifle.
YOU GOT THAT MAGGOTS?!!

Im in the army, but, a soldier left his weapon somewhere he shouldnt have, and someone found it who shouldnt have. The soldier did so much pt over the next 3 days, i actually felt bad for the kid, plus, on top of that, he got an article 15. So it is simple, keep your rifle with you, especially in iraq, it may save your life, or may save your muscles from pt.

you will get an article 15 or courts martial depending on the jerk who is in charge
Fess up and admit it now before someone kills someone with it and it is traced to you.
Then get the hell out of the military before someone shoots you with it or someone in the friendly fire outfit or the enemy shoots you. you wanna keep your dick right?

You will ruin your good sergeant's day, and he will ruin your day. You may think it is the longest day of your life.
