At night when it's bed time, I always find something else I must do before retiring for the night. I won't rest easy unless it's done, which gets me so involved to where I put off going to bed. Same goes in the morning when I'm getting ready for work. There's always something else I have to grab or do before heading out the door, which makes me late alot. It's like I'm a perfectionist, but my house is not that tidy. It really stresses me because it seems as though I can't be satisfied with the way things are and just go on.

You'll find following thoughts to conclusion and not starting someting until another is finished is the best way. What you suffer from is lack of priority, and this is impossible when involving daily planning and following thought to conclusion. They say 20 percent of your actions allow for 80 percent of your results so if you do your critical twenty the rest will be mainly end results, and flow as though clockwork, and it will be good.

This may sound weird, but have you considered OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder)? You might want to talk to your family dr. about it and see what he/she says.

One idea would be to set a timer in the evening (maybe 1 hour before you need to go to bed) and tell yourself that once the timer rings, you have to stop what you are doing and go to bed. Same thing in the morning - set a time and get what you need done - same deal, though, once the timer rings, you have to stop and go to work.

It would seem you have what is called obsessive compulsive disorder.

If it is interfering with your life to the point you are late for work I suggest you find some help for it.

Call and set up an appointment with a mental health clinic.

They can help you develop routines to help you live a more enjoyable life.

Good luck and God bless.

You need a "to do" list. As for work in the morning, get your stuff ready the night before.
