No! In fact, you can use Answers Users to take out all of your frustration on after a long day of meeting crappy people.

Looking for someone to vent all the frustration this niceness is bringing you? Honey, if you made a resolution to be nice to everyone...that means everyone. There shouldn't be any gray areas. I know there are alot of, uhm how do I say...Misinformed(being polite)? people on here, but it would not be fair to let them "have it". No matter how well deserved it may be. Being "nice" is harder than it seems. Not only do you commit yourself to being nice, but you force yourself into tolerance at the same time. I wish I had a better answer for you, but I wasn't the one who made the resolution and if you really want to stick to it...then just smile and move on to another question where you can be nice.

Your definition of nice is what is at debate here. It is not if if you will or will not be nice to who you meet. You do not technically meet any of us. So, you have an "out". However, you can choose to be civil. That is something that society as a whole is lacking. Civility... a great concept. So, if your resolution is indeed to be civil, then, yes, be nice to us all. However, if you want to just be nice ignoring crude and rude would accomplish your goal. I hope this makes some sense. Remember, you get what you give. Peace!

Personally I think you should be nice to all the nice people you meet regardless of where or how you interact with them. Key words in that phrase is "nice people". However I think it is open season on stupid/ immature/ ****** type people. Usually you are not being rude your actually just telling them the truth which they may not believe or like so fire them up!

I think resolutions are not just the action itself but the spirit that goes behind the action. If you stated that youwere going to be nice to everyone you meet then I think that it is implied that you wlll be nice to every one whether the meeting was face to face, over the phone, email, Yahoo Answers. chat room, IM...etc

It's your resolution. I think you are the one who has to make the terms under which you'll abide by it. If it were me I would ask myself why I made this resolution in the first place and go from there.

When I pray to God to help me be polite/nice to everyone, I include those people that I only "meet" on line. So, yes, it includes people in this forum. God bless!

Just remember that behind every nickname you see on your screen there is a real person. I think you should be nice to people on the internet too. You're meeting us online. :)

if its a resolution you made I would think that means you should be nice in general in any situation

That is a pretty stupid resolution, actually. If someone's being an asshole to you, I wouldn't be nice to him.
