My friend, Andrea, lives in a trailer, and because of this, people call her "trailer trash" and she's SO not, she's probably one of the most classy people i know. Why are girls so mean and shallow? Whats wrong with someone living in an apartment, duplex, trailer, ect?

People just need something to pick on.
There is an unfair stigmata with living in a trailer

Some of the trailers are very, very nice. I live in a very nice trailer, in a very nice park. I don't owe a dime on my home, which is about 5 years old.
I won't say that all people who live in trailers aren't "trashy" But you find that with people who live in their own homes too. If a person takes pride in their home and the surroundings then there is nothing "trashy" about it.
You find a lot of people who live in HOMES, that can be considered trash. The houses run down, the yard a mess, etc. Your home is what you make it. If you take pride in your home, whether it is a trailer, apartment, duplex or a house, then no one has the right to judge and call you "trash"

Unless it's actually a manufactured house (used to be called mobile home), living in one, says that a person is/people are either poor or traveilng. YOu have not one garage.
The term white trash, has nothing to do with the structure in which a person lives. I once had neighbors who lived in a house, who were white trash. Living in ap or duplext, there's nothing wrong, except high rent and you can't do anything much with out asking for permission. I live in an apt, and I'm moving to a cottage. Plus, again, no garage, fence, storage unit of own, a garden, nor with some exceptions, not even a car port or work shop.

Kids nowadays like putting someone down, they feel like they have power over the person then. There is nothing wrong with living in a trailer. It is the stereo types that give it a bad name. Trailer trash used to refer to uneducated and unskilled person that lived in a trailer. Nowadays you can live in a mansion and still be called trash (be it white trash or whatever). Just let her know it is just words, and yes words can hurt, but that it does not matter where you come from. it only matters what you do with your life. Good luck.

nothing is wrong with it, because at least u have a place 2 live, because some people live at other people house because they don't have a place of their own, some people in a hotel or motel, some people live on the street (homeless), and some people live in a shelter..... and those r not good 2 live in but at least u have a house like: apartment, duplex, trailer, motel, hotel, shelter or other people house, but i live in house and i am happy where i live, and if other people aren't happy 4 where i live, then they need 2 go buy me and my family a house and pay the bills...... and when u bring that up, they probably wont bother u no more, (i said probably) but they will probably bother u even more..... but i lived in a duplex and a apartment be4, but that was until we found a house that we were comfortable with, but it started taking a long time so my daddy built ours and we have: 5 bed rooms, 5 bathrooms, and 5 mane rooms, and no im not lieing, because my daddy is a real-state agent!!!!!! and yes im happy where i live!!!! and no there is nothing wrong with where u live!!!!!

nothing is wrong with ur freind living in a trailer, ppl can just not give up their stereotypes same as their will always be racists around. as long as your friend andrea has you and ur other friends there is no need to worry about what those other shallow girls think, they have no right to act the way they do and you and ur friends should stay the way you are and not change because of some shallow girls

Its not where you live, its who you are, that counts!! Some of the worst people live in fancy neighborhoods, and some of the best live in small homes or trailers. Its whats in your heart that counts. I live in a double wide mobile home, and I love my home, because I could afford to upgrade everything, and even have nicer cars because I don't have an outrageous mortgage! My taxes are lower, so I can take nice vacations, or do other things. As long as your a good person, and your happy, don't let anyone else judge you. If they don't like you for who you are, they are shallow, materialistic people, that simply don't have a heart!! Also, no matter what you have, like they say....you cant take it with you!!

i see nothing wrong with it people that don't live in trailers have only seen trailers on TV or have seen trailers that are run down and falling apart they don't realize how elegant they can be now in today's world or some of them see people trowing away money on something that depreciates as soon as you pull it off the lot and take the wheels out from under them and then throw money into someone Else's pocket for lot rent every month and are jealous that it is not going to their own pockets just tell her to stay cool and let other people say what they want just reminder her that they people that are calling her this are jealous that they don't have something as nice as she does good luck

Of Course ther is nothing wrong with living in a trailer! Kids at school are very superficial they care more about who's wearing what or where they live than the actual person. That will change when you get out of school just be her friend and don't let it get to you....Andrea is very lucky to have a friend like you.

There is nothing wrong with living in a trailer. There are many people in this world who live on the streets in cardboard boxes and would be grateful for a place to live!
