Ridiculous isn't it! Some casinos in the Freemont area still dump coin but probably not for much longer.

Here's a good question: How much money are the casinos making off people who forget to cash in their tickets, forget the ticket in the machine, lose the ticket, etc... I can guarantee the casinos are counting on this to help their profitability.

I go to Casinos because I love the atmosphere. The sound of the coins dropping is that atmosphere. It's a shame that the paper tickets are taking over. A lot of the machines in Tunica, Mississippi still have the coin machines, but they are remodeling and revamping the machines as we speak. The tickets are taking over. Not to worry, I don't get to cash too many of them anyway. I have gone to the Blackjack tables, where chips are given.

I was upset when they started switching to tickets but now I feel it's better. You no longer have to sit and wait until you fill your containers with coins, you don't have that heavy container to carry around and keep and eye on and the tickets are much cleaner....coins are dirty! Yes I miss the sound of those coins hitting the metal but in the long run, tickets are easier and faster.

Yes, I miss the sound of the coins coming out of the machine and jingling in my pockets. I haven't seen one with coins in a long time. The tickets are okay and it's true your hands don't get dirty anymore, but that was the fun part of it.

Back when the most you could win on a slot machine was 200 coins ($10 in nickels), the clang of coins was fine.

Now, with machines paying out hundreds of dollars, the tickets are better.

I love the tickets. Much cleaner than coins!

Online casinos are even better. No tickets or coins. Just mouse clicks!

No..I miss that sound of the coins dropping. You don't even have to pull the handle anymore..just push a button. It stinks. An ex once told me that if you listen carefully to the sound of slot machines, the coins dropping sounds like they're saying "money, money, money". Sounds crazy, but true. Sublimal anyone??

many still have coins downtown. If a bad game - coins better as slows you down. If 100%+ video poker - coins bad as need the speed. 1 day all coins will be gone. New resorts have none.
