First we will always need transportation, and the highways were actually not put there originally for you and me, but more so the military can move massive amounts of equipment quickly if necessary. But even if we did get away with cars we would no doubt change them into mass transit arteries.

we will always use highways for something, if only to divide property...maybe for exercise-biking, skating, walking, ...how about landing our flying vehicles...
