Usuaully people with worms notice an itchiness on their butt in the middle of the night. (I know, that's a bizarre symptom, but it is the most common.) You were probably just lucky enough to be born with a fast metabolism. How old are you, are you a male or a female, and do you exercise frequently? Be sure that you are drinking enough water, sometimes we mistake thirst for hunger. Also, you may want to check and see if your family has a history of hyperthyroidism.

Most likely you just have an exceptionally fast metabolism. Unless you have traveled to a third-world country in the past 6 months or so and have eaten some food infected with parasite eggs, it is not very likely that you have a tape worm. The symptoms if you did have a tapeworm would be extreme fatigue and you would probably also pass some worm eggs when you go to the bathroom.

The only way you can get tapeworms is by swallowing a flea. So if you have pets with fleas, then yes it is possible. It's rare, but possible. There are other types of worms that people can get as well, many of them transferred from pets. You should really go and see your doctor just to make sure.

You should see a Dr. There are other things that can cause those symptoms and tapeworms is a possibility...if you have pets. Also, if you are very energetic and can't sit still and loosing weight you could have hyperthyroidism which is a disorder caused by an imbalance of the thyroid hormone. so, please see a Dr. even if it's at a clinic. Good luck.

It's barely possible, but not likely. I'm 5'8" and I've weighed about 115 pounds for the last 40 years. No tape worms (I actually had my doctor check about 35 years ago).

It isn't likely. You would have serious digestive problems (such as bouts of severe constipation and diarrhea). You'd have severe abdominal cramping and nausea as well, and possibly even a mild fever. If you are concerned, go see your doctor. It is more likely though that you are just more active than others.

Do you have any pets? Do you eat under cooked meat? If you are very active that would be a reason for not gaining weight too.
