If you mean a curl activator I know a good one but you'd have to sign-up as a preferred customer to get the discounted price....
If you want to make curls:
The best curls/long wavy curls are made this way (and I got best answer on this yesterday):
1. Wash your hair and put some mousse or gel on it.
2. take a section and twist the hair into a ball -- if you twist it long enough it will ball up but don't do it so tight it hurts.
3. Make sure you get the hair as close to your scalp as possible because anything that isn't twisted will be straight. You can even do a side-part that is cute.
4. Secure it with elastic covered bands like a baby bun.
5. Do this all over your head and be sure you leave room to sleep on it.
6. More hair in the baby bun twist makes bigger curls and less hair makes smaller and potentially kinky curls.
7. Do your whole head (I've gotten good results from 3 of these and I have very thick long hair) and then go to bed and sleep on it.
8. When you wake up, if it's still not dry, take it out and dry it with a diffuser and scrunch the hair with your fingers into a ball in your fist.
Good luck!

This is how I deal with my hair and it really works:
i use Umberto Giannini Curl Friends shampoo and conditioner and styling products, or Aussie miracle moist shampoo and 3 minute miracle conditioner.
After washing my hair I comb it through, then I tip my head upside down and scrunch it all over, then wrap it in a towel for around 15-20 minutes while doing my make-up etc. After that time I take the towel off and scrunch it all over again, then I leave it to air dry, occasionally scrunching it up all over my head. Once it is dry, I use a golf ball size amount of mousse and scrunch that into my hair, then, holding my head upside down I dry my hair with a diffuser, scrunching all the time as I go. Flip your head around a bit. Once dry (about 5 minutes) I spray it with hairspray, the flick my head up right. At first it looks a bit puffy, but it settles and forms the curls beautifully.

If your hair is already curly, try the John Frieda products. They aren't as pricey as salon products but they do a great job. I use the shampoo and conditioner for curly hair, and then a spray called Curl Perfector.
I'm not much help if your hair is straight and you want to add curls; I have curly hair already.

I've got the same problem! Try a good shampoo/cond like Pureology hydrate, then use Redken soft curls gel, it really makes a difference. Blow dry with a diffuser about 20 mintues after putting the gel in. I used to hate my curls, now I love them!!

hair mousse is best. wash your hair and run the mousse through towel dried hair with your fingers and set with curls for about 3 hours. easier to use a curling iron though. but apply mousse to dry hair instead and style
