It's pretty obvious by there remarks on this site that there only goal in life is to condemn anyone or anything that they do not have. Besides, I don't think hell can burn forever without any fuel.

Why Did Jesus Waste His Time With You

2006-08-22 16:26:47 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 6 4

Because Jesus came and wasted his time with us, and said "Go and do likewise". A person who may be an unbeliever at the moment is not a hopeless and doomed person. Look at Mary Magdalene, Matthew and Paul! Jesus did not stay with the 'perfect' people,, who were the Pharisees. I think you need to read the New Testament. He had a lot to say about self-righteous people. He said to love our enemies. If a non-believer rejects you that is different.
On the other hand,, if you are saying that believers shouldn'/t waste their time in arguing , then Galatians 5:16 and on totally agrees with that. When we argue and get all bent out of shape, satan laughs.

1) We apply time and effort to the salvation of non-believers because God told us to. "Go, therefore, into all the world and preach the gospel." Also because we care about them. "Love your neighbor as yourself."

2) Eternity is not the same thing as forever. Forever implies that time is linear and infinite. it is not. There is a beginning and an end. "I am the beginning and the end." Hell is atemporal, which means it is not bound to time. Therefore, burning in hell means all possible pain and suffering compounded together, with no temporal separation between events. That would really suck.

3) Since we care for the lost (see answer 1), we make every effort to convince them of the truth so they won't suffer hell as described above.

You are what is bringing a demise to the Christian religion. You will not allow any one else to think for themselves, go out on a limb and try to experience life from a different perspective than what we have been taught for the last 500 years. If you wish to persecute all non-believers and to literally put them below you, so help me god I hope you burn in hell. You are taking the word of God and applying it in a manner that it was not meant to be used for. How can you call yourself a true Christian when you persecute and ask for trouble. Maybe you should revamp and take a look at things from a different perspective, like from the bible.

True, I don't think this site represents the very best of what atheism has to offer. Then again, I don't think it represents the best of Christianity either. I'm an atheist, but I try not to unnecessarily condemn anyone. However, to answer your question according to what I know of Christian beliefs, I think that the "reason" you should "waste your time" with non-believers is that your God has specifically told you to spread word of Him. That is, I believe your dogma dictates that you convert us all and try to save our souls and whatnot. But hey, it's no skin off my back if you're content with me going to Hell...as I don't believe in it, I don't mind at all =)

K, I am an agnostic and no, my only goal in life is not to criticize others for their beliefs, but apparently it's your's. I don't care if you think I'm going to hell, I don't believe in it and I don't think you should condemn others because they have different beliefs than you.

I'm number 54 in the answers.
What you see here for the most part offends me to but I'm still trying to plant seeds of truths where I can.
I get so frustrated with some of the people's comments but feel that what they are doing they do in ignorance.
Remember what Jesus Christ said while He hung on that cross. He said, Father forgive them for they know not what they do.
Those of us who have been given the gift of the truth see and know for certain the outcome of unbelief. Its death for them and eternal life for us.
Knowing this, and the nothing we had to do to attain this life can we refuse to disregard the commission the Our Christ, Jesus the Lord has charged us with. I say no we can't.
Don't give up on them who in unbelief sin. Continue in the ways Our Lord provides us to try to reach out to them. Someone someday will come up to you, maybe not in the flesh but they'll come and say thank you so much for been there as I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord the day I read your comment.><>

Of course, you've already heard all the reasons why it is not a waste of time. That's what we have to do. All we can do is plant a seed and God will take care of the rest. I know it gets bad sometimes listening to all the terrible things these people say about our Lord and Savior, but we just have to tell the truth and let God have it. God Bless You !!!!

I know, they do make really tacky remarks, but some of them are just trying to be different. Hopefully, that don't all believe what they say about God. The more we try to motivate them to God, the more they say against God. I really don't know. That's a good question.

well,as a christian we are here on earth to win souls and not soul for christ,if you pass them by as a christian and not challenge them at the end of the day u find out that u find ur self to blame but if you have atually challenge them and they did not listen you then we assume that u have tried your best and leave the rest for God to handle and if possible you were able to convince them then,u have actually won victory for yourself, christians and also God himself. So therefore it is not a waste of time rather the best way to utilise ur time.

If you consider yourself a Christian you are a very cynical one. I think this is the perfect forum for believers and nonbelievers to exchange ideas. God wants us to share His Word with everyone. He also wants us to love everyone as He loves us. If a nonbeliever asks/answers questions in this category I choose to believe they are looking for something bigger than themselves and that something is God. If I belittle them I am only proving what they believe about Christians. If I treat them with loving kindness and pray for them they'll see that being a Christian is a good thing. How we treat them may help them to choose to invite Christ into their lives. I pray that you will see this as an opportunity to spread the Word. God bless!
