A rose is a flower is a plant? Not all memory works the same way. To remember your daily schedule, write it down. To remember technical material, review it often and use it. To remember people's names, listen to the person pronounce his ot her own name as you look at their face. To remember your own name, lay off the weed. Birthdays? Gotta keep a calendar and look at it often. Remembering to put pants on? Good luck! I don't know how to do that one in the summertime. And take ginkgo biloba, get enough rest and call your mother.

Your brain is just like any other part of your body, the more you use it the stronger it becomes. You could either make the effort to memorize, or remember as much as you can, of various things. Quotes(short and long), directions, names, etc. Puzzles and reading helps too. With the reading part, you have to imagine with as much detail as possible and use voices in your head instead of just looking at the words. Hope these help.

They help me anyway ^^.

are you under a great deal of stress? depressed? both of these things can cause memory loss.

if you are, then your going to have to do some life management and start removing your stressors. your probably saying easier said than done. i hear ya. but it really is possible. you just have to start drawing some lines and sticking to your guns with people.

in the meantime, make lists. and keep one of those small calendars with you.

Do things that will stimulate it, just as you did when you were in school. Read, write a poem, do crossword puzzles, stand on your head and recite the Gettysburg address. Anything you feel that will be challenging and yet fun, that will keep that brain exercising!

Well, you might try and work on developing your memory by simply using it more. Try to rely on your memory for simple things like grocery lists, phone numbers etc....if you are too reliant on writing everything down you aren't exercising your brain. You can also try Ginkgo Biloba, it helps some people by increasing blood flow to the brain.

There's natural medicine to help you remember and it's totally safe--although I don't remember the brand name of the one I use.
I'd say test yourself and train yourself to remember. All it takes is a little more extra time and not a penny more :)

Read something and after a few hours try to recall back some information or events that have occured in what you've read. Or try to remember what you were wearing yesterday or doing at whatever time. :D
