i would love to have a fun birthday party for my 13 yr old any ideas to make it a smash???

I'm a big believer in simple. Let your child have a sleep over birthday. Have him or her invite as many friends as they want, (we always did mixed sleep overs but we have a two story house and my husband stayed on the floor with the boys and I stayed on the floor with the girls).

Do pizza, ice cream sundae's, birthday cake, put in horror movies and let everyone stay up until 3am (not a school night). Tell everyone to bring a sleeping bag(or sleeping pad), pillow, pj's, and a flashlight.

If you are the game type of family, play games, we like movies so we did movies.

Wake them all up in the morning with donuts and milk and then send them on their way.

I did this every year until my daughters were 20. Then the parties were at my daughters house, but that's a whole nuther story.

boy or girl ?? would help to know... rofl...... dont want to confuse the issues here..... anyway, watch and listen to see what kids are up to these days.... what kind of activities are they into.... ask a few of the parents of your childs friends.... a boy/girl dance.. a mask part..... not costumes, just the mask, like they did in the olden days.... or if not a dance, if a teen girl, have a make over party..... find a beautician who will come to house or ya'll go there, this is a good way for teen girls to learn how to NOT wear make up, and to wear it the right way.... and to learn how to take care of their skin and hair and nails..... a none learning thing.. *wink*....... boys, lets see......13 yr old boys are soooooo strange, I raised 3 and now have 5 grand sons..... still cant figure out teen boys..... a pool party with water games and LOTS of food ??? a skate party, a bowling party, a movie party... good luck and God bless

something that's always fun is going to an amusement park, like 6 flags great america. I remember I went there for my friend's birthday some time back in junior high, and it was tons of fun!! I think her dad treated us, and there were 4 of us total -- not so bad that it would break the bank, but still enough people to make it a fun group outing.

A "Smash" is a great idea! Anything involving minor destruction is guaranteed to result in fun for a 13 year old.

-Get a pinata!
-Put up a big poster on thin paper that your child can jump through for his/her "big entrance."
-A water baloon fight in the back yard is perfect for such an occasion.

attempt Oriental trading - they have a gaggle of exciting stuff it quite is for sale in packs of 8 or 10 it quite is fairly a lot less extreme priced. you may also bypass the "Mythbusters" direction and attempt some exciting youngster- style experiments. The Mentos & nutrition routine Coke try is messy - yet fantastic for a gaggle of little boys. (drop a mint Mentos right into a 2 liter bottle of coke - it creates a tremendous fountain of soda...)
