Everyone has problems from sin or demonic influence, THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU HAVE A DEMON. There are so many so called "deliverance ministries" which claim this, and cause peoples faith in Christs power to protect us from these things to faulter and fail - which actually opens us up more to their attacks.

Deliverance ministries actually do a form of "exorsism" which cause demons to enter into somebody to begin with!!! People claim to have had 100 demons removed when it was just one demon playing games. Do not get involved with these people.

But to your question they do exist, and sin is deep in our nature. But if we don't seek after God and continue in sin and do not ask for help, it is likely that demonic forces are at work.

I myself have experienced demonic forces first hand, and they are real and not to be trifled with. Goto Jesus, he will deliver you.

Yes, I believe that there really are such things as demonic spirits. The Bible is very clear about this.

No, we do not all have demonic spirits in us. There is some argument that once a person is a Christian (truly saved, personal belief in Jesus Christ as savior) a demon spirit cannot enter that person.

We are all sinners because of our sinful nature. In fact, we are all born sinners because we all inherit the sin of Adam. Even if someone was able to live a perfect life without sin, which no one can do, that person would still have the sin of Adam to account for. You account for your sin either by going to hell, or accepting Jesus Christ and allowing His death to be payment for your sins.

I am sorry that you got some bad advice, and some bad counseling. I doubt that you are demon possessed; you probably would not be seeking answers like this if you were. You are normal, just like the rest of us, which means that you have fallen (Romans 3:23).

What you have in your life is sin, just as I have sin in my life. The answer for that sin is Jesus Christ. Jesus died on the cross to pay for your sins, and all you have to do is accept that, pray to God and ask Him to forgive you in the name of Jesus.

This will not take away all of your problems, which you already know if you are a Christian. We still fail and sin even as Christians, and in fact are assaulted by temptation all the more. We have to keep plugging away, keep asking God to forgive us and to strengthen us so that we will be better followers and not give in to the temptations that are before us.

Giving your counselor the benefit of the doubt, which is hard to do from what you have said... What she may have been getting at is that Satan and his demons are the ones who tempt us and lead us in directions that can cause us to sin. That does not mean that we are indwealt or possessed by Satan or demons, only that they are tempting us.

Don't be afraid because what you have been told. There is a lot of bad advice out there. Look to the Bible for the truth. Your pastor, priest or minister should be a good source, but don't always take what they say as the absolute truth. Whatever advice you get, compare it to what the Bible says. This can be a hard task, but if you have a Bible with a concordance (kind of like an index in the back of a Bible) that will help. There are also a lot of online sources to look things up in the Bible.

Demons are real, the Bible says they do possess people, but that is not the only thing that causes us to sin.

Yes.

Bible:
An example in the Old Testament with the demon spirit comming over Saul to kill his brother David over what i beleive was jealousy.

Dictionary definition:
An evil supernatural being; a devil.
A persistently tormenting person, force, or passion: the demon of drug addiction.

Movie:
What I beleive to be an accurate movie depiction:
Watch the movie Constantine with keannu Reeves to see this illustrated to undertstand how many people have and unfortunatley turn to their own demon over God. As the parts where the demons are whispering into the persons ear to drink alcohol to keep and keep and keep on drinking.....and when Constantine describes how the demons or peoples own demons take something they like into a full out addiction which often destroys that person's life.

But the best desription of demons and true definitions, I believe as a Christian are found throughout the Bible as described in the Ephesians verse.

Hope that helped.

Yes demons do exist. They are like angels - only evil. Smarter and more powerful than people, but not even close to the power and wisdom of God. While they exist, if you don't go looking for them, they aren't something you need to worry about. I am a Christian, but I get quite annoyed with other Christians who attribute every bad thing in the world to a demon, who seem to think there's a demon hiding under every cornflake. It gives the devil far too much credit, and it downplays the truth that in real life most evil is due to the stupid or sinful choices we humans make on our own.

To your first question - i have to say 'yes' to that - they are mentioned many times in the bible (and 2000 years later where did they go if they don't exist now?)

Your second question is rather more tricky and i don't feel can be answered with a simple 'yes' or 'no'.

When people emerge with various problems there can be many causes and results from that. One can be emotionally painful experiences some of which can go way back to childhood and others can be more recent. others can be due to wrong assumptions in life. other problems can be based on a lack of maturity or inability to learn various life's lessons.
and then there is sin

also the demonic realm

if you are not sure if you have demons or not then why not find yourself a second opinion with another christian counselor?

Yes there are demonic spirits still in the world today.
Satan has control of this Earth till the second advent of Jesus Christ. Then no more evil for The Lord is come.

Have you ever heard that the eyes are the windows to the souls? Christians, true Christ men and women can see through the eyes of someone who has a demonic spirit in them.

Those with evil spirits in them will never give themselves away by looking directly into a Christian eyes for they know that they will be sent back to where they came from in the name of Jesus Christ.

I really doubt that you have an evil spirit inside of you but you can go to God in person and talk to Him about and get it straighten out.><>

I really think there is such a thing. I think it is present when ever you get scared about doing something (for me it is going down in the cellar and i get a creepy feeling so I don't go). I know my answer sounds rediculous but thats what I've got. My mother always thought her grandfather was an evil man because he did evil things and was never nice to anyone. After he died she would have nightmares about him chasing her down. So what I am basically saying is most definately yes I believe there are demon spirits.

demonic spirits do exist for sure. But just because your having problems doesn't mean that there are actual demons in you (though this can happen). But when Satan knows that we would be good for God he will try all the harder to tempt us and lead us astray....the bible has more info than I do though. if you read some in the new testament it should help clarify things a bit.

Not everything is a demon... and they aren't really things that are personally owned.

They might come and bug you, but as a Christian, you can tell them where to go, in Jesus' name, and they have to go.

Some continuing problems are cause by our HABITS rather then a demon.

I think - stop focusing on the little nasties and focus on getting the mind of Christ.

you dont have demons...she must not have explained it to you right. certain religions believe that a problem in ones life was put on them as a form of spiritual curse. like saying I'm a stupid person and over time you really act that way. its a form of mind changing in the subconscious. you say it enough you believe it and reflect it. you can pray for that feeling you have to be removed or look into what the root (start) of the problem was and how it started. not all problems in one life is a sin. it can just be a wrong path that effected the end result. (my own example. i thought if i did wrong my father would kill himself like his mom did that put a rift in my relationship with my dad and in turn i didn't get along, because i tried to do back fired) after i prayed to get that feeling of dread from my life and realize my father wasn't like his mom my relationship with my dad improved allot. i removed it from me. it can be interpreted both spiritually or psychologically, for even psychology methods are used in church.
another example one said, if you say watch out or you will fall. will that person fall because they were told it would happen. no only if the person believed that would happen and their mind gets preoccupied and bam they fall. that phase is a teach tool so that too can be turned.
