Try scraping it off. As far as going back to hot pink... if you got sick of it why go back. Maybe scrape off the wool and take a rag and scrunch it in a little ball and dip it in the paint and "sponge" it on your walls. Use a lighter pink over your hot pink - this will give you a pink marble effect and it won't get so bright and in your words "sick".
Good luck

The problem people have with choosing pink is that they go too pure with the color. It needs to be muddy and dull not to scream PINK!!! Go to the brownish colors in the fan deck with a pink tone, and then to the lighter end you will find a color that will look pink on the wall, but softer. Same with your orange. If in doubt, get a test quart.

Pink and orange can look awesome together. If you have a home depot near you, I can give you suggested colors.

I do decorative paint for a living and I thought i saw it all, but I've never heard of wool on the wall.

I would sand it off. If you try to paint over it, it will make a mess. My personal opinion is that pink sucks, and a combination of pink and orange would suck big time.
