I do want to spend no more than $15 buying a SD CARD READER. I am afraid that some may just eat up my card all of a sudden... are there cases like that? I have a 2gb SD Card..any recommendation?

technically they describe not to remove the card while the device is reading or writing. Otherwise all other card readers should not give you trouble. for 15-20 dollars you may even be able to find a 6 or more card reader.

Ditto. I use a $15 all-in-one card reader for both CF and SD cards. Never had a problem.

try not to remove your card while reading or writing. $15 is good enough to get a SD card reader.
