Sure, here's a list:
No caffine or chocolate 6 to 8 hours before bed even if you fall asleep, this won't give you a real deep sleep needed.
Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day.
Do not keep the tv or radio on or any noise, for that matter. this can keep bringing you out of the deep sleep cycle, prohibiting you to get real sleep.
Keep the lights off (night lights are fine, but try to keep the area dim) this can also wake you up easily
Drink warm milk before bed.
Lastly, breathe two seconds in, four seconds out. repeat until you fall asleep.

I have chronic insomnia. What i do if i think it's gonna be a rough night, i take a warm shower and use some sort of body gel that is specifically for nighttime. It works. Also i have this cassette tape that plays really soft music and i fall asleep pretty fast. good luck to you.

It sounds to me like you're possibly insecure about something.Do you fear the unknown??Do you believe in the power of prayer? I have nights like that when my worries just get so overwhelming until i realize there's nothing i can do,that it's out of my control,so i give it to God and pray for peace of mind and the ability to realize i am not going to help any situation by worrying,he's there to take that burden from me. Give it to Jesus,he'll take it from you and replace it with peace so you can sleep. Hope i was helpful

Try the natural route. Try taking a large intake of calcium with magnesium everyday. both work together to help your body and nerves relax.
