Question #1: bad effects of not eating meat would be iron and zinc deficiencies, poor blood, being tired and sluggish, anemia, lack of concentration. Colon cancer and Alzheimer's has been linked to iron deficiency . Infants are better off breast feeding due to the iron in breast milk. Thus non-breast feeding infants are placed on iron rich formulas. Your immune system and white blood cell count is directly effected by the lack of iron.
A low white blood cell count increases infections like, luekopenia, viral infections like HIV and lupus. Iron is a major requirement for your body to function properly.
Question #2: bad effects of strict vegetarianism , again would be that a strict vegetarian does not include any animal products. thus even eggs, milk, cheese, or any milk product or animal by-product is off the menu for such a dietary life style. Depriving you of valuable nutrients not found in vegetables. Some will tell you that certain proteins are found in vegetables. And that is true, but vegetable protein and animal protein vastly differ in what they provide for the body.
Question #3: Can people survive off fruits and vegetables alone? Of course they can survive, just not to their life expectancy. The human body requires an infinite number of vitamins and nutrients found in ALL food groups. Hence what the food pyramid, the five food groups, the known illnesses from the lack of certain vitamins are designed for.
Question #4: why is it not morally wrong to eat meat? The eating of meat/fleash and/or animals is morally wrong in many cultures. But those are based on religious beliefs and not health matters or nutritional facts.
Depending on rather you have a cultural background of religion or maybe just a personal decision to go VEGAN you should explore the nutritional value and sence of what you consume.
The greater issue here is, what should you eat to preserve the health of your body?
Even though vitamin supplements are approved by the FDA many studies have shown that vitamins and nutrients in pill form are not easily obsorbed by the body. Thus not providing the same health benefits as actually consuming the food itself.

There's no such thing as "bad effects of being a strict vegetarian". You can be a vegetarian and still get all the nutrition from a wide variety of vegetarian foods if you know how to choose them. Talk to a qualified dietician and get to know about balanced meals - it can be a combination of vegetarian and non-vegetarian or just vegetarian foods. And IF YOU THINK AND FEEL that it is morally wrong to eat meat, then abstain from it and be a vegetarian.

Well, I think it IS morally wrong to eat meat. However to answer your question, you could become ill if you don't get enough protein from another source. You need to be sure to get 'complete' proteins by mixing beans and grains. Many vegetarians also eat eggs and dairy products, which provide protein. Only Vegans do not use any animal products, not even eggs and dairy products. I think there may be some risk of becoming anemic, but as long as you eat a healthful balanced vegetarian diet, and substitute proteins, you should have no problem.

You should find some vegetarian diet books or websites about what to eat.
It isn't morally wrong to eat meat. It is morally wrong to eat meat that you don't know how it was raised, who raised it, and what kind of hormones and antibiotics were used in it.
Buy less, buy local. The rest is up to you getting involved.
If nobody eats meat, then we would just have to kill the excess animals for sport. What kind of morality is that? We need more people to eat dogs and cats, like Lewis and Clark did. There's just too many, and they are taking food and resources away from useful animals.

You need protein, but you can get that in pill form or a shake. Vegi's are extremely good for you. I can go on about that. Also fruit is good too, it gives you energy. As far as meat, I really don't have an answer. It makes you stronger if you bench, but most women don't do that.

There are no bad effects. You would have to take vitamins to make up for what you are lacking. Do you honestly think we've been eating animals all our lives? No bad effects, just the pleasure of feeling not guilty for eating our friends in nature.

In addition to having difficulty getting enough protein, you will lack some micronutrients that you only get in meat.
As far as the morality of it goes, you can morally object to practically anything, including asking and answering questions on yahoo. Your morals are what you choose them to be.
