This is a serious question. Are there other religions besides these three that are so violent in execution of their religious dogma?
Which others require violence and conquest?

I was just wondering if removing religions that advocate systematic violence would eliminate violence? I was also wondering if other religions were as violent and was reminded of Hindus in India.
I was also reminded that I was stupid, of that accusation I have no defense or excuse: I agree.

At first I was interested in concept of removal of knowledge of dogma of three violent religions. Then respondents got into technique.
How about only those who self-report or profess the violent religion like Pat Robertson. You wouldn't have to do everyone just those who promote violence.
Trish, logic? Phoenix, boogieman is dead. >>etc, you presume much but also have some interesting perspectives.
Are they violent? Ask Muslims about crusades, Cananites about Jewish genocide and Palestinians about land theft without compensation, and as for Muslims, why say more.
Correct, not all are violent, thank God
Peace be unto all.

Since when has Judaism been violent in it's religious endeavors??? So presumably you think Judaism is violent because the predomenantly Jewish NATION of Isreal is fighting the Islaamic state of hezbollah? Incidentally Judaism in and of itself has nothing to do with the fighting going on, other than the fact that the nation that they are fighting is anti-semitic. Don't mistake Jewish ethnicity for Judaism. I would also try to argue that Isreal was defending itself, albeit a little disproportionately, but that's neither here nor there.

Also, yes, religion can turn into a political, power hungry, blood thirsty ideology, but you must realize that the Catholic Chrurch of the middle ages is NOT the same thing as the Christianity today. It had protestors within it's ranks, and it was defeated, just as you are implying we should do. Christianity as a whole is no longer a violent entity. It does not call for violence. You will always have extremists from every religion and political belief system that turn into violent war mongers in search of power.

As for your question about which other religions require violence and conquest...Almost none of them call for violence. There have just always been those facsists(i hate using words that talk show host frequently use, but that's what they've been) who turn their religion into something it's not.

Now as for Islaam, I would say it has been the ONLY religion that actually calls for violence, in my opinion thus far. It looks like the peacefull muslims are the ones not following their manuscripts to the letter. But I don't completely understand Islaam, so this is only my current opinion until I see otherwise.

Now, to finally answer your question about making the world safer: I don't believe that would make the world safer in the least bit. In fact, I would say that would make the world more dangerous. I mean, obviously you have some knowlege of at least one of the three, so are you ready to die? On the non-political level, violent criminals, most of the time, are people who reject religion. Therefore all you would be doing is concentrating the per capita of violent crime in the world. While this may be a serious question, I don't see the rationality in it.

Making the world safer-- I'd like to share with you that in the moderately sized city of Kennesaw, Georgia(a few minutes North of Atlanta) all citizens are required to own a handgun before being allowed to buy a house in the city limits. Coincidentally, there is virtually no crime in that city. No one tries to rob anyone's house, because they know that person is required to have a gun. Also, this keeps all felons from being able to buy a house in the city limits. That's a start for towns in the U.S.. As for the world, there are many ways to make it safer, but politics and diplomacy forbid them all, including your suggestion, So there's really no point in talking about them.

I hope I don't come across as though I'm talking down to you, because my "type-tone" often comes across that way. I appologize ahead of time in case I do.

Of course not! Do you know how many killers it would take to kill every Muslim, Jew, and Christian? All that would be left in the world is mass murderers!

People would then turn on each other, this place would be wiped out faster than an atom bomb if killers were left running the place! It'd be survival of the fittest! And every hour would be a new king, for the runner up would make every attempt to kill him!

It'd be every man for himself in this blood feuding world in which you speak. It'd be today, times a billion!

Christianity is neither violent, nor is it religion. Someone got your money and tricked you GOOD on that. Christianity is when one believes and follows Christ according to the word that was written from God to man, the holy bible.

Of course, you'll hear everyone and their brother saying "That's not true", "That can't be", "what about this, and that and that and this" but when it comes to your death, it's going to come down to...what do you believe, and where are you going next.

You can choose to not believe in hell, heaven, Christ dying for your sin debt, etc. and say something like "There's no hell", but I can also go in the middle of the freeway, and talk about how I don't believe in traffic.

Just before it hits me, and hits me hard. Don't let your mind be led by false beliefs, or what these tele-idiots are doing on tv, or what some pastor, preist, religious system, order, rule, doctrine, law, etc. tell you how to think or what to do. Believe in the lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.

Only in the short term.

Those religions are the most violent only because they are some of the largest. I know that you are probably thinking of Hinduism and Buddhism as being relatively peaceful, but it's important to remember that in places like India, Tibet, and Nepal (the only officially Hindu nation in the world) there is still terrible violence, crime, and cruelty.

If Christianity, Judaism, and Islam were wiped out, the vacuum would just invite new orders of horror and death. It's human nature, after all.

During the cold war one of the main strategies of the USSR was to try to break the social morals of the United States, to try to destroy the family which was the strength for our nation. In answer, no i don't think it would be safer and here is why. The main enemy of the world is trying to break the only ties that humanity has with God. All these religions mentioned worship the same God. What better way than to tempt them to discredit themselves by their own actions and break their morals. Look at American society now. It seems the USSR's plan is working whether they know it or not. God is true but corruption is our nature. The goal of the enemy is to keep all attention off Jesus Christ and since that can't work they try to discredit his Church by their stupidity. So in answer with the previous knowledge applied The world would not be safer because the enemy of the world would have lost His most formidable enemy.

the three religions that grow by proselytizing their beliefs. all peaceful indeed in their truest meanings... only slight percentage of practicioners go the extra miles to impose their beliefs on others and would even kill and be killed for others to make themselves deemed "worthy" in the presence of their God(s).

But as much as we like to form the future peacefully we cannot erase hatred that's been building since the beginning of time.
No, killing them, or erradicating their beliefs from the face of the earth wouldn't help.

What a good question hay to be frank with you, they need no one else to do it when history all will defend their belief and culture and when one tries to strong hold or change what has been instilled in them! It don't matter what the belief is!
It is like someone breaking into your home and start painting and throwing the furniture out in the street!

Ignorance and extremist views are certainly the root of evil. Much of it is in the name of religion. Virtually every war is a result of Islamic extremism, though you can't blame Islam itself for that. Some how, we always blame the Jews!

The 3 you mention are big on teaching peace & love. If twisted people can twist those religions into something evil, then how much more twisted would those same personality types worp our basic values which are based on protecting our own interests, instead of peace and love?

You decry them for "violence" and yet advocate genocide: violence on a mass scale.

You are not only a hypocrite but a paragon of stupidity.
