Personally I think you should confront him and be open and honest and voice your concerns. Not enough openness in the world today causes problems. You felt what it is like when this facing you before so why allow it to become an issue in your future when you can avoid it. All relationship should start out with complete honesty and when your holding back it is the same as lying to yourself as well as him. don't allow that which happened in the past ruin your future, instead learn from your past to enhance your future.
best of luck and hope all turns out for you.

sure wait, if that is to be, then it will be. Sometimes in life you have to wait, because good things comes to those who wait, and also make sure that you both have a good understanding so that not to repeat the last, build on getting to know the kids and your boyfriend before you make a serious commitment, because for some after a while it gets messy, but when you take precautions and take it step by step, and you see a promising future with your boyfriend and his kids, then you know what is the next step.

How serious are you with your boyfriend? Are you willing to take that risk? I had a similar situation, and it's so painful when they just leave. Not only are you trying to deal with the pain of the boyfriend leaving but the children too. If you feel like you can deal with that, then go for it.

When the relationship reaches a serious level you should meet them. If you meet them sooner try not to get to attached. I know it's hard but it's not an easy situation.

I think that you should wait until you are sure that it's going to be a long term relationship. As you said, it's painful not only for you but for the children as well.

If you haven't been dating long then I would wait. If you have been together for a while then you need to meet them

I would say it is fine to meet them, just make sure they are introduced to you properly ie. as Daddy's new friend, not a new mommy.

don't rush to anything, let things happen naturally. You'll find the perfect moment and you'll enjoy it more because you did not provoke it. Let it happen unexpectedly, but not unprepared.

If it were me I would follow your heart. he may think that you do not like kids and then it will not work. So follow your heart and you will do just fine.
