Do your Parents/Inlaws favor one grandchild?

How does it affect you and your child/the relationship with the grandparents?

My mother favors the grandchildren of my baby sister. She acts like those are the only ones she has 99 % of the time. She has made the rest of the family so mad at times that I thought a war was going to erupt. It doesn't matter what our children have accomplished(which are her grandchild also) they are never as good as my sisters kids. It is very hurtful to everyone and the kids do notice it.

All Grandparents seem to have a favorite however it is our jobs as parents to make sure they are treated equally and when my ex in laws do not see it that way then its time to stop the visitation untill things become clear for them

Well no my mom favors both of her grandsons which is cool.I don't ever want to be a mean grandmother and favor only one grandchild that is just plain awful.But My grandparents only favor my older brother but I don't really care it's their loss.

My inlaws favor my sister in law's kids. She has girls, which the rest of us have boys. It really bothers me and the boys. But she always favored her daughter over her sons.

My in laws have hardly anything to do with my kids, they think Birthdays and Christmas are spending time with them. I really don't think my kids care though. I get more upset about it. That's OK they are half grown now, and the older grand kids really have nothing to do with them now, so their loss. My mom on the other hand is like super grandma, they love her to death. Don't worry.
And yes my 2 youngest nieces get treated better than my kids.

Well I do not speak to my Husbands family. Well his mom's side. They are prejudice, My children are half white, half Puertorican. My son turned out to be blond while the girls are a tad darker with brown hair. She would want to talk to him and ignore the girls. I fixed it. They are not allowed to come over or have any contact with me and the kids.. Well a hundred other things happen too.My husband talks to them and that is the line, not to be crossed. I do not let it to get to me or my children. It is my right to protect them...

My mom play favorites including her grandchildren. not something new to me in view that she performed favorites with my siblings and that i. So she would not teach a similar LOVE she shows for my niece, it angers me to some extent yet there is not something i am going to do except not carry my newborn round her. i do not desire my mom for daycare, i do not desire her for something at present. She she probably receives to ensure me and my son probably once each month or so, and that i usually am purely there for a couple of minutes to chit chat slightly. we've in no way had a good courting to commence with so i do not see it taking position for my son both. My in regulations on the different hand LOVES my son to lack of existence. They helped me raised him in view that he became born and are continuously helping out every time we desire on a similar time when we do not ask for assistance. we are searching ahead to a distinct newborn, a woman and that i ask your self if it will be a similar way.

yes, my in-laws favourite my oldest because she is the only girl in the whole family and the first grandchild, but because she is the only girl, everyone seems to understand and not to be bother by this situation, and of course, my girl really enjoys it.

Do NOT permit favoritism.
It is SO DESTRUCTIVE.

If they dont like it tell them my way or the highway.
Your children have only you to protect them and that includes protection from stupid relatives.
