how often are you suppose to color your hair?

i dyed it like a month ago and it just faded real quick...it's starting to look bad ....i thought it was 8 weeks but dang it looks bad....

you can dye it every four two six weeks, but I would not reccomend more then that. Some colors such as reds fade very fast. There are some pretty good products for specific colors of hair. Pantene and John Freida both make color specific shampoos and conditoners. Dove makes one kind for lightend hair, and one kind for darkened hair. There are also shampoos that are for dyed hair that aren't shade specific. they tend to be gentler and have sunscreens in them. There are also rinses that you can use between colorings, and glosses.

It depends on each person, and the brand of dye you use. I use Revlon Colorsilk. And I love it. I dye my hair every 4 to 6 weeks. Color can fade fast if you wash your hair a lot, spend a lot of time in the sun. Or use a brand of dye that is not very good. Make sure you use a level 3 dye. If you are dying your hair red or black they tend to fade fast. But you can use a color blocking shampoo that will keep your color from fading.

Yeha ur right. Its supposed to be every 8 weeks. But sometimes, because it fades, to do it every 6 weeks. To help prolong ur hair color, you should use the shampoo for color treated hair. Im sure u know all this. And the darker colors, such as red, black and brown, do fade the fastest. Try not too wash ur hair everyday. Good Luck!

well if you want it to last longer ...i heard that if you leave it in for like an extra 5 min it will be more intese at the beggining but it will last longer. And you should color your hair more frequently than 5 weeks.dye ruins your hair but the more you do the more dammaged it gets.for instance my mom used to dye her hair to match her outfit(preeety weird huh) and now her hair is like strw(and im NOT egzagerating in the least)

I color my hair out of boredom, so I dont know the actual between time... Mine usually is twice a month. And to just have something to do. I KNOW THATS BAD!!!

color your roots when they bother you and run the color throught the ends every other time, becuse if you do it every time you color your hair is going to become dry and brittle from the ammonia in the color dont color all of your hair more often that every 3 months....color your roots al often as you want of can afford

I dye it myself usually every 3 weeks. That is pretty frequent, but it has to be done!
