For one person to reach perfection is very difficult, left alone humanity. To answer if one reaches perfection. Perfection means merging with the oneness. The one is many, and many is just the one. That is, all phenomena we know and see arises from the one, the one is the many parts of the one. Like and automobile has many parts that come together to be called a car. One part singularly cannot be called a car. All parts together is a car. In this sense, one is many and many is just the one. Therefore, perfection is the realization that all phenomena are parts of that oneness. Oneness includes us. Realizing this ultimately we become the One. This is Perfection. So any move that we make from Perfection would mean not moving away from Perfection. Pefection is moving yet not moving.

Once humanity reaches perfection (nothing more to progress), something happens that will wipe all from the face of the earth ... and humanity starts from square one again. Happens before, will happens again. Read all the evidence in Erich Von Daniken's series of books - Chariots of the Gods, Gods from Outer Space etc - there were far more intelligent beings before us who have discovered space travel, batteries and formula for iron that will not rusts!

We would achieve a perfect balance and hence achieve Nirvana (as in Hindu, Buddhist and other religions)....but if humanity reached perfection, there would be no religions..hm

I guess we would be all living in a suffocatingly happy environment and that could be a bad thing..because the sweet aint as sweet without the sour, baby!!

Nice question, mate!!

well, if we reached perfection, true perfection, then how could we move away from perfection? A perfect person wouldn't do anything imperfect, so how could imperfection come after perfection?

If we reached perfection, I think we'd be in a kind of heaven.

It is impossible to reach perfection and make an imperfect move. Thus, we would stay in perfection forever, barring external circumstances.

If humanity reached perfection they would be in eternity, and there is no changing in eternity since it is the fulfillment of time - past, present, and future all at once.

God's plan has already been fulfilled. Eternity exists now. Prayer is your link to the eternal now.

In my opinion, perfection is unattainable by Man. Choice separates us from perfection, believe it or not. Free-will gives us choice, to do both evil and good. Perfection is either absolutely one or absolutely the other.
