My dentist noticed damage to my back teeth that he said is most likely from acid reflux. (I also have the burning throat and horrific heart burn lately too) Around the same time I started having these issues I started having problems with my ears, sinuses, upper and lower back (but not middle) and waking up coughing at night. Can acid reflux cause all these other issues too?
I tried going to the dr about all this but the nurse actually told me that I had "too many symptoms" to be seen about in one day!

As a victim of Acid Reflux, I know exactly how you feel, and that nurse is retarded for saying that to you!! See a Specialist, the thing is, sometimes you need to be "referred" to one, before you can be seen by one... I went to a Gastrointestinal Specialist, as referred to, by my Fam. Dr.

If acid is coming up in your throat bad enough to effect your teeth, then you really need to get some help. Acid Reflux when left unattended has caused throat cancer, because the acid eats away at the lining.....

My Dr. perscribed "Prevacid" for me, and I feel normal now, along with that, I changed my ways of eating too, so, get some help!!

I don't think acid reflux can cause all the things you mentioned.
(burning throat, heartburn, and coughing; yes). Tell a walk-in
clinic you'd like to try Protonix for the acid reflux, or go to a
health-foods store and let them suggest something for your
acid reflux. Do it before you burn ulcers in your esophagus
by the acid coming back up. I think this should solve your problem

I have the same problem and went to an Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor and he put me on a medication called Prevacid and it works great. Yes, acid reflux can cause all those problems. Be sure to go to a specialist in that field. Good luck!

I had the same problem, but i was too young to have acid reflux. it's called a hietal hernia (not sure on spelling). basically a part of the stomach creates a pocket where acids build up and when something you ingest moves it, you burp up the acids which causes the feelings of heart burn and the same signs of acid reflux, not to mention your esophagus feels like it's on fire! but a chiropractor can adjust it easily, and yes, when something in your digestive system isn't working well, it causes problems with your whole body.

yup the acid can be causing all these problems, the acid in your stomach is coming up your throat and caising the pain in your back... remember your sinues are connected to your throat as well so this is why you may be having pain in them, you should know that when you have acid reflux its causing damage to your esophagus (throat) if the nurse told you , that you have too many symptoms then you need to demand that this gets looked at.. it all can be solved with a change in diet possible and sometimes medications can be taken

Yes acid reflux or more commonly called GERD can cause damage to several body areas depending on how sever it is, you should see a gastrointestinal specialist (skip the middle man and go to the pro)
