i have a Hifonics BXi 2006D Class D Monoblock Amplifier and its rms power ratings are
1 ohm=2000w x1
2 ohm=1300w x1
4 ohm=650w x1

and i am planning on getting two 12" Pioneer Premier TS-W3004SPL. these subs are 1000w rms/3000w max.

the thing about these subs is that you can buy them in either "dual 2 ohm" or "dual 4 ohm". and i dont know wich will go best with my amp. i was told a dual 4 ohm would go best with this amp but i want to here what others got to say.

and just "FYI" i already have a 5.0 farad capacitor and all the wiring, etc...

WHY DO PEOPLE EVEN POST ANSWERS WHEN THEY DONT KNOW? Nice amp, I have the 1200 watt model and my friend has the one you have. First off, the Hifonics amps run super efficient and cool, so you should have no problem with overheating or "over running the amp" as some one said, I would actually not run a cap, but thats just me. I would go with 2 of the dual 4ohm speakers, wire each in parallel, then wire the two speakers parallell together. That will create a 1ohm load. Did I confuse you? If so email me at munkyhead2_16@yahoo.com and I will try to explain a little more. And again, the Amp will be fine at a 1ohm load, the Hifonics amps are really good and you will definateally be satisfied. Hooking up your system like this will definateally give you some awsome bump, and you can run both off of the same amp. Suggestion is to get a new alternator and Optima Yellow Top, instead of a capacitor.

dual 4's will make the amp think it's suppling 2 -2's the best thing to do is use just one speaker at the rate,if you don't the response will suffer, one song may sound good but, you'll find yourself having to adjust the gain on almost every different type of music to get a good sound that will never be totally right. It's a mono amp for a reason so use just 1 to get it right,I'd go with a 4 ohm.Using two speakers on a mono amp you also have two different ways to wire them up and if you don't go with the right way you will shorten the life of the speakers or amp or both. And I can't tell you enough times that a mono amp pushing TWO enclosed speakers really sounds like crap.

If you want to run one speaker you could get 1300 rms to it if it is hooked up the right way. There is a way to hook these up so the amp sees one ohm and puts out 2000 watts. This is probably taxing the amp too much (I am "assuming" that the dual means dual voice coil).

check here:

select 2 subs and then look at either dual 2 or dual 4 ohm.
Your amp will run hotter at lower ohm rating. i would also be worried about clipping and overheating. If it has a thermal protection circuit, it will shut off if it is too hot, if not you could fry your amp. and also, if your amp starts clipping(putting out distortion instead of sound) you can blow your subs(distortion is what ruins subs, not overpowering. a sub can handle more than its rated for, but don't overpower it purposely).

and just so you know, hifonics amps do not generally have good sq, just high power ratings.

You have a very powerful amplifier. I would suggest the 4-ohm speaker as safer for the speakers and the amp. 650w will be more than enough even at loud 15Hz levels. You might check the speaker and amp distortion specs; you might find that the higher impedance gives better performance as well.

2 ohms this fits your chart

for best sound run every thing at rms

2 ohms is 1300w whichich is t 300 wat over your speaker rms

oh yeah and you need two amps for the system to work
because your rms rattings are bridged

If you got spare room in the truck use a marine deep cycle battery instead of the capacitor(this lets you add more electronics)

Well to tell you the truth i would go with the 1ohm just because ur subwoofers are 1000 watts rms a peice and amplifier if its 1ohm will be givin 2000 watts rms witch means that each sub will be gettin 1000 watts power to each subwoofer that way they are gettin powered perfect it really dont matter wat one u go with u can wire it down to 1ohm stable so u can buy the 2ohm or the 4ohm sub dont really matter.
if u have and questions on wat i mean just ask ill help u out.. because i have my own sound system and i got them powered perfect so they slam...

Higher ohms give better results.
