I have been living with this guy now for 1 and a half years. He is 10 years older then me and between the both of us we have 5 kids. Our relationship has always been tested where the kids are concerned but we have a very good relationship until recentley. The problem came in when he got this job that was located about 17 hours from where we lived. He is always gone now and its like he is gone for a month and home for 3 to 4 days. I know I love him but I am at the point to where I want to give up due to the fact that he never calls me, and he keeps telling me that he is spending so much money on me and my kids because now he feels like this house is for me and my kids and not him or his kids because they are never here. He tells me he does not call because he is tired and he works long hours. I just feel like I am holding on to nothing at this point but i do know that i really love him

Well, you need to ask what he wants(since you say that you love him). From the sound of it he is looking for a way out. Don't sit around hoping that he will call, start living again. Good Luck.

Is the job permanent or just temporary. I know it is hard not to miss him, but if it's temporary it will end. I use to send my husband cards in the mail, make a few minutes telephone call, and try not to work him to hard when he did get home.

If it's permanent, long distance relationships and work, but you both have to make time to talk to each other.

Either move to be with him and sacrifice for love, or get out of the relationship that's not working. It sounds to me like he's got another girl on the side, anyway.

Leave and go to your relatives for a couple of months. Take the kids.

Just see what he really wants out of the relationship by giving him space while you give yourself time to collect yourself.

I would give up.. or move to where he is.. oh.. that is right.. you can't because of your kids...
I would get a job if you don't have one.. then start paying some of the bills.. because he might end up moving closer to work any way.

if you truly do love him then i think that you should try to make things work, spend a little time one on one and try to rekindle the fire that both of you once held.

If you think you can work it out...go for it. Basically, you should talk to him...be straight forward and the truth will set you free!!!
