I try very hard to understand the person, (culture and family) to have a reference point to have a beneficial conversation. Cousins - that's a PROVEN DNA point of danger, not a romantic point.
America is such a melting pot of goo - that even understanding what it means to be American is very almost tiresome. People forget that being American means no force is used when dealing with concepts. The use of force to make your point, or build your community is just not American (anymore).
When Americans see an injustice (insert type___________) - many PEOPLE will not understand why the injustice is not stopped, let alone approved of. The injustice of: children, pregnant, elderly, weak/ill - will generate Americans to form a quick opinion to step in and protect these groups. (Not just American - luckily.) Watching this via TV, as the leaders of those groups Not doing anything freaks Americans (USA or western society) out very quickly. So yes judgements are made at the country level, individually i can only talk about me, and like I said - I try hard to be careful before I open my mouth.

The reason it is not right for 1st or 2nd cousins to marry in the US, is a genetic one. The bloodline is too close, and the incident of birth defects is higher. Third cousins are allowed to marry because the risk is small.
Homosexual activity will never be totally acceptable in western society. Just because there are many that are, does not mean they are accepted, it just means that they are tolerated, as long as they are not forcing their value system on others.

The reason is it ingrained on us that marriage within the family is sick is because it is known to cause birth defects; over time this probably became a social more.

I personally have zero problem with homosexuals marrying; there's really no reason why it should be considered sick. But to say it is "acceptable" in Western society is a joke; homophobes are everywhere and currently only Massachusetts allows gay marriage.

married cosines are negated by married sines. Sometimes they go off on a tangent.

Ha Ha, enough laughter at your spelling error. The problem with cousins marrying is the genetic issues with their offspring. I have serious issue with my tax dollars going towards the food stamps of a child that has a predictable genetic disorder. Homo's do not effect my pocket in the same way. I could care less if a guy likes his fudge packed.

do you judge societies by what you have believed its right in ur society?

I'll answer this question: I don't believe something is "right", I discount cultural intangibles that don't work well, or trample people's rights, or hurt others.
Living with Freedom of Speech, I feel that other countries that do not have that are missing something integral in their lives.
But I could be biased.

When cousins marry, assuming one is female and the other is male, then they can reproduce and herein lies the dilemma...the good old gene pool doesn't like it when such close relatives reproduce offspring, especially in the case of first cousins, as all the genetic nasties usually come out to play (this is when you can begin to whistle the theme from deliverance)....however, when homosexuals marry or copulate there's absolutely no chance of reproducing unless a third party of the opposite gender is introduced.

Doesn't matter what I think. Only matters what God thinks. The Bible is the "handbook for life" for those who chose to believe in God. The Bible plainly states the homosexuality is wrong. However, it also states that God loves all men and wants to be reconciled to them. And that we should not judge our brother because there is always something "wrong" in our lives as well. As much as we are able we are to be Christ-like to all people. Interestingly if Jesus lived today you wouldn't find Him just in church preaching "believe on me". You would also find him "doing" among the people we tend to judge.

Marrying "cousins" (the correct spelling) is not sick. Who told you that it was? In most states, it is perfectly legal AND there is no scientific proof that their offspring will have birth defects. YOU are a bi-product of cousins marrying. If you bother to look back at your family tree, you'll see that I am right.
