First, if you have more than one source connected to your TV (VCR, DVD player, cable/satellite box), try changing the input setting on your TV to see if this appears on all of them, or just one.

Next, check the connections on the back of your TV and on the devices that are connected to it. Where the connectors just push on/in, push until they stop. For screw-on connectors, tighten them until they're nice and snug, but by hand only, no tools!

Something else that might help is to simply unplug the TV from power for about a minute and then plug it back in and turn it on. Very very simple, but you'd be amazed at how often it works with wonky problems like that.

Make sure that everything is plugged in properly. This happened to me with my older tube TV. I ended up getting a new one.
