About 10 yrs. ago, I had recurrent spontaneous pneumothoraces requirering surgery. At the time, I also had lymphadenopathy of unknown cause. During hospitalization I developed an acneform folliculits over chest, back , and face that itches. Dermatologist is puzzled, bx did not help, anti-fungals, antibx, topicals, failed. Did 2 courses of Accutane which helped, but rash came back on face and neck. Itches intensely- and it worse in day, better at night. Dad has Marfan variant. Tiny filled pustules and small bumpy rash. Any one with any clues? Take benadryl at night, but doesn't really help. I am 43. Only other health probs. are osteoarthritis of knees, precancerous colon polyps removed, fibrocystic breast dz. I am 5'8" 130 lbs. HELP

How is your liver? Have you ever thought maybe you might have liver disease such as Hepatitis C? (the symptoms are quite common, especially the rashes in the hcv infected).

The other organ to ask about here is also kidney disease?

HCV is not detected during a normal blood lab. Sometimes with HCV the ALT and AST levels are not affected, hence, the doctor would not assume to test for HCV.

I wish I could be of more help, but if you haven't been tested, I certainly would consider it! I have an ear for you if you need to talk!

HUGS!
