you have to tease your hair. you do this by taking a comb and taking a chunk of hair and combing towards the scalp. don't do it too much or it'll look like you've been electricuted. it can also do damage to your hair if you do it too much

You need to apply a styling product before you dry the hair.
If you want a "hump" you need to use a round curling iron or you could also use a flat iron, just make a "turn" in the hair.
You can then backcomb it, only a little, then apply a finishing product, like a wax, then spray it.

get a bobbypin, butterfly clip, or barette and pull some hair back and when you pin it, make alittle hump....then hairspray it.
