I want to know if anyone else hears this when it's really quiet.Like at night when it's really still and quiet and i am trying to go to sleep,sometimes I can hear this buzzing noise! It drives me nuts when I think about it.I usually don't notice it.But if u just lay still then u hear it.It's like a constant buzz and it's like the sound of quietness i guess.Then if i move my bottom jaw back,i can hear it really loud.Is this normal?Please don't give any non-serious answers.This really makes me wonder.Thanks :}

This happens to me sometimes, I think it may be caused from inner ear trouble b/c I usually end up having an infection. Ear problems can cause you to hear noises like that. Or maybe you are just thinking about it and are hearing something that isn't there. I tend to do that sometimes too. Like if my hubby is working late or out of town, I don't sleep as well and I tend to hear all kinds of noises. You dont't sound crazy.

Sounds like you might have tinnitus (ringing/buzzing in ears). Mostly you 'hear' it when you're at rest and things are quiet. There's not much you can do except run a fan or some other soft sound to distract you from concentrating on it too much. If you're taking aspirin, stop (aspirin tends to make it worse).

I don't know if it's normal but I have what sounds like a high pitch sound all of the time that I don't really notice unless it's really quiet. My b/f said he doesn't have that. I also can hear fine, but not great. I miss alot and I think the high pitched sound may be involved in that interference.

Oh boricqua, shut up!
If you work around a lot of noise, motors running, kids yelling, loud music and so on, your ears can be stressed out and continue to send sound signals to your brain.
An hour before going to bed, try to get to a quiet place, relax, maybe read a book or do a crossword puzzle. Let your ears relax.

It is usually caused by beetle worms boring into your inner ear and hatching new born beetles in your cranial cavity. It will eventually go away when the beetles eventually find there way out .... usually through the nose,ears or mouth.

Boricuaangel, what does Jesus have to do with a medical condition? Save that for the religion and spirituality category.

You have tinnitus. This is also called "ringing (or buzzing) in the ears". You should get checked by an ear specialist.
