My Cockatiel is a light yellow and white. His head and crown are yellow and he has orange cheeks. What kind of bird does this make him? Also i've been trying to get him to talk. I also have two budgies. The budgies are loud and chirp a lot. Would it be a good idea to keep him beside them, or to move him away into another room. He does have a mirror in his cage as well if that will affect your answer.

your bird is most likely a lutino, is still a cockatiel, just a different color variation, they come in grey, pearl and lutino. The mirror in his cage is a distraction, and I would take it out, if he can play with bird in mirror, why play with you? Is he hand fed? Budgies will keep him company, and he will mimick there sounds. Are his wings clipped. They are social bird, live in flocks, would not move budgies away.

AWWWW! How beautiful! that's what i could call a Pearl Cockatiel. there is likewise a Pied Cockatiel. the two have the grey and yellow splotching. the two way, he's a cutie! verify and feed your chicken a pellet eating recurring fairly of all seeds. All seed diets are such as you eating Twinkies each and all of the time. If he's eating all seeds, try switching him over to pellets slightly at a time. Zupreem or Harrison's are stable pellet manufacturers. Harrison's is organic and organic and is my fashionable, yet any would be greater advantageous than seeds. stable success! You have a lutino pearl. Probly a FEMALE because this is a sex linked mutation. You can house your parakeets in with your cockatiel. They wont hurt each other. But a female cockatiel usally doesnt talk they usally only tweet if they make any noise at all. Females can talk if given enough time and if they want to learn how, but most of the females wont. If you want one that will talk, go buy yourself from a private breeder or from someone looking for a good home for theirs. Most of the time you go shopping for a MALE and when bought from people like this, you will more then likely buy one who already talks, then all you need to do is wait on him to talk to you and whistle his tunes. And if you dont want to breed him to your female simply never give them a box.

There are so many color varieties of cockatiel. There normal (the typical grey ones you see), pearl (normal, but the edges of the feathers are yellow; this is my personal favorite), cinnamon (the parts that are normally dark grey are lighter), white-faces (all the yelow and orange pigments are absent), pied (any color variation mixed with white), silver (where the color is light and the brght orange cheeks are washed out) . . .

you may have a female. With lutinos and all other color varieties that have white, females are almost impossible to tell from males by looks alone. I have, in all my years working with birds, known of ony one female who talked. And cockatiels normally learn to talk on their own; I have three males and I did nothing special with them before they started talking, saying "Gordon" (the name of the first cockatiel) and "what are you doing?" as well as a variety of other noises, such as kissing.

He is just a yellow cockatiel. How long have you had him? Some of them don't talk. But he should atleast wistle or give kisses. Just spend alot of time working with him. As for being by the parakeets...he will be fine...they would sort of keep him company when your not there.

first take the mirrlor out of his cage....he's gonna fall in love
with himself instead of you...Your cockatiel is called a common grey
Getting him to talk take's alot of patience and time...you have to say the same thing over and over. Budgies are nasty and might
bully your cockatiel..Move him...
