Don't kid yourself, old man. There have been 3 russian airplane crashes in this year alone. Sikorsky? yeah ive heard of it. I can name other great russian aircraft, Sukhoi, Mikoyan Gurevich, but these are all fighter aircraft. Obviously they care about making top notch figher aircraft to rival the United states, but When it comes down to maintenence and overall responsibility for their commercial birds, they downright suck at it

They are playing catchup from being a socialist country. Everything used to be done by the Government. The private sector is trying to catch up to compete with the rest of the world. Guess it would be an opportunity to bring a aviation business to them...

Don't kid yourself kid, they are right where they ought to be.. and always have been, does the name Sikorsky ring a bell? The Russians have always led scientific research and engineering, a little tight on cash, maybe but SMART! do some reading.

Russia spent to much in the past trying to rule the world. Now their world is slowly breaking up and as it gets smaller, Russia looses its know-how. Just like when Germany split after WWII, the good brains go where the money is.
