I don't think so. I only used to have a few, but now they're coming in faster. I think it just seems that way, because they do seem to start come fast and furious.
Hair turns gray because the pigment cells in the hair follicle dies as we get old. These pigment cells produce mellanin and that's what give you your particular hair color. As the pigment cells die there's less mellanin around. It's pretty much genetically determined, although some people can go gray quite suddenly if a trauma affects them (like Barbara Bush when their child died). Not sure why that happens.
Thank goodness for hair color is all I can say!

No, it's not true thank god ! you get grays because the hair only has a certain amount of color per hair, the hair will still grow even if there is no color in it. that's why some go grey earlier than others. Like a printer with no ink, the paper still comes out just the pages have no color on them : )

No, that is not true.
Each hair is produced by a "follicle".
Only one hair can grow from a follicle.
Hair gets gray because the follicle quits producing the coloring pigment.

I don't know if that's true, but I think hair turns grey when our scalps stop producing the pigments that give the hair color. Hope this answers your question.

I doubt it, I remember being told in school that grey hair is caused by a chemical no longer being made in your spinal cord or something like that, maybe someone can add to what im trying to say?

i don't wknow about the growing back part but we get gray hair because the pigment component of the hair follicle dies as we get older.

it is true. And i think we get gray hair becuz the pigment in our skin dies out after awhile same with our hair. That is why you see old people and they r really white.
