maybe you're looking for a two-year technical or vocational school. "Everything" has schooling first before you do the job. So determine what kind of schooling you want to do. Even the airforce will train you, and you will have benefits (which will come in different forms and last you your entire life). Why not take one of those vocational tests to see what you're good at, and then proceed to choose a school, or start into the community college for the first two years and get your AA in something you like. If you want to be a firefighter contact a few who are doing that already and ask how they got started.

Check out the local police force and see if they have information about entering into an academy. So many positions today want the college degree today. Your earning power could be up to 35% less without a degree if you work for somebody else.
You could always work for yourself, if you have a passion/talent for something that you could sell, manufacture or help others with. Read the book Rich Dad Poor Dad before you make any decisions, it will be the best book you will read for your future and the future of your children. It probably will change your whole outlook about what you can achieve.

The military can give you some good training and also good retirement if you stay in long enough ( even in the reserves)
Vo-Tech is good.
Schools overseas need English teachers, you only have to know how to speak English, but it will not help you with a career.

Try Navy or Airforce. They will give you excellent training, a purpose, and will hold the door open for you to go to college.

i know what you mean. i still haven't graduated but i have no clue what i want to do with my life. the only thing that i can tell you that may help is to try college. if it doesn't work out you could always drop out. and I'm sure that there is a college out there that has more hands on programs. good luck!

When you say you're a hands on guy, I assume you mean you work well with your hands. If that is true, I highly suggest that you enroll in a technical college. Technical colleges teach you to work in fields from electronics, to computers, to carpentry, electrician, plumbing, etc.

“Now therefore know and consider what thou wilt do; for evil is determined against our master, and against all his household: for he is such a son of Belial, that a man cannot speak to him.”
“Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.”
“It's not what's happening to you now or what has happened in your past that determines who you become. Rather, it's your decisions about what to focus on, what things mean to you, and what you're going to do about them that will determine your ultimate destiny.” Anthony Robbins
“It's possible to do a much better machine . . . You could put a faster processor in. Intel's has the 8086. I think five years from now the amount of software and the quality of the software on this machine will be incredible. It will dwarf what is available on mainframes, minicomputers and other machines.” Bill Gates

I think if college isn't for you, maybe vocational/training/aprenticeship schools with rolling admission is a good idea. They are hands-on.
