Sigh...you are sooooo earthbound. You can only picture eternity in terms of how your life is here, even lacking imagination. Did it ever occur to you that this may be the bottom branch of the "Eternal Spiritual Evolutionary Tree"? That maybe you are still in the "womb" and haven't even snatched a glimpse of whats out there waiting for you? Boredom? Can a fetus think that all of life is going to be like it is in the womb? Come on...stretch a little!

I say I really pity you for this limited viewpoint. The eternity I envision is one of freedom, a soul in the spiritual dimension, knowing the full joy of God's unconditional love. I don't think that in all of eternity will we EVER learn all their is to know or all the secrets the universe holds or all of the glory that is God. Oh, and by the way, one of the ways that we can and do escape the "boredom" of eternity is to do exactly what we are here doing now...incarnate into the physical. In the relative terms of eternity, this life is merely a blip on the screen. When this one is over and we go back to the spiritual dimension for awhile, we can again choose to reincarnate, for something to do!

I am willing to take my chances being an immortal in human form. True, a billion years (or more) might lead to boredom. But to spend all that time amongst people...people are endlessly fascinating.
Try Robert Heinlein's "Time Enough For Love". A great book on the trials of being immortal.

You assume that time in the afterlife works the same way there as here.
God is outside of time and to be with Him is to be outside of time as well. Time therefore has no meaning, as does the word eternity.
Weird, I know, but there you are.

You are currently living the afterlife of your previous lifetime, which was the afterlife of the one before that, which was...
In other words, we don't have to wait around for eternity, we're in it.

Heaven sounds good to me... Praising & singing & worshipping & fellowship with Jesus and the rest of the saints...
Nope. Can't think of any place I'd rather be for the rest of my eternal life!

The universe is a very big place and I think that we will serve God,doing many things. The eyes will be opened and our understanding will be new.We won`t be the person we are now ,we will be a new creature in God.

That's sad....I am glad that I have very different opinions than that about how we spend eternity. I am going to spend it in the Kingdom of Heaven in paridise............hopefully you will change that way you see things and I will see you there!! :)
