It does not really hurt when you get them put on, but it does hurt when they are tightened.

Getting them put on hurts less than a visit to the dentist, but after they are on, your teeth will be really sore and achy! You will not be able to eat solid food for at least 2 days, then the pain goes away! When you go back to get them tightened every couple of months, it will be sore again for like a day after! Then when they ae finally removed your teeth will hurt again cause they are not used to not having all that heavy metal on them. Overall, it is so worth it in the end. A little pain equals nice straight teeth! ~No pain no gain!~

Hi. The braces purpose is to correct problems with your teeth. Generally that involves straightening crooked teeth. You will find that you get a general discomfort that could actually cause a constant ache, but that will pass after you've worn them for a few days. You might also get head aches each time they tighten them.

But in the long run, the small amounts of discomfort you experience will be worth it. Your teeth will look beautiful.

haha! I had braces...oh those were the days. Getting the braces put on doesnt hurt at all...well it shouldnt cause all that is going on is metal brackets being glued to ur teeth and a wire strung through. But it does hurt once its all put together because ur teeth are trying to shift. Since they are trying to shift they become "loose", not enough to fall out though. And when eating its best to eat softer foods, NOT FRENCH BREAD! ouch! But not everyday is it gonna hurt. usually just after you get them put on and after tightenings. But your cheeks may get a little cut up from the metal, but that is why they give u wax. But good Luck!

Geez the 4th and 5th day of having braces was a real killer. Just sooo much pain, you feel like tearing out your teeth altogether, well that was for me, and i took medicine and stuff. Other than that, they dont hurt, only after tightenings.

Only after the the appointments where the braces get tighten. That's when the braces slowly pull or push you teeth into position by ripping them out of you gums so they can settle else where.

Or when you get hit in the month playing sports and you lips get cut up inside.

That's about it.

Not really, just plan on a diet of yogurt, tomato soup, jello, and anything you can suck through a straw for the first week. People complain about braces WAY too much.

They only hurt the day you get them. But still it's not extremely painful a littly tylenol can soothe the pain. And when the dentists tightens the wire, it hurts a little. But it only hurts around an hour after the appointment ends and lasts for around 2-3days.

Yes, they hurt after they first put them on, and then every time when you go back to adjust them, they will hurt a little. The pain isn't so bad, but it may be irritating at times.
