Germany invaded Poland on Sept 1 and the Soviets didn't until Sept. 17th. Poland had a mutual aid pack with Britain and France to help them against German aggression. The Soviets weren't as much of a threat since they were on the other side of Germany and wouldn't be able to wage war with the west being that far away.

That is because Russia was not an allied power back then and Allies has no said whether Russia was right or not cause France and Britain has other right and interest in Europe and they do not want to provoke another enemy.
Beside Poland has always been known as a thorn or state of Russia, therefore no want want to risks their share of interest which was vest to them after the first World war.
Beside it was Poland that faced the threat of German invasion that some parties tried to seek the Russian help and interventions, therefore it was not advisable to other foreign power to send helps, beside that they do not any intention to provoke Germany and risk and all out war.
In Wartime's it also involve a lot of politics and you have to value every opportunity and making sure that you have a long term objective. so you also cannot said that it is wrong not to intervenes, maybe the timing and thing are unclear back then. but at least when Germany invade Russia, Allies has one of the strongest power to it war chest.

Are you speaking of when Russia liberated Poland from the Nazis? This is how US history portrays it, however the USSR just happened to stay there a little longer then necessary. Britain, the US and Russia made behind the door agreements as to how land was to be distributed, Russia after being invaded for countless generations seized this opportunity to create a buffer zone between them and the motherland. Hope this answers your question.
