I know that there are some private orders that are Christian based and do use a pentacle in their private ceremonies.
From a Christian perspective I get concerned when we place too much emphasis on symbols. Calling forth the the power and authority of God and or the Holy Spirit is not symbol based in the Gospels but open to everyone at any time through prayer.
Jesus only offered two symbols that of the fruit of the vine and bread but even that the power comes from sharing the meal wiht others in rememberance of God's covenant through Christ not as a weildable power.
The cross is a good icon of remeberance of the sacrifice but is not a scriptural idol to be worshiped. and all the rest of the Christian symbols including liturgical colors are of human origin not God ordained symbology.
If your intent is to usher the Holy Spirit pressence in to a palpible experience that is done through heart felt sustained praise.
If your intent is to usher in the transformative power of God that is done through sustained/unceasing prayer by you and preferably more born agin souls.
The catholic does use things like beads and stations to bring a person into an open reflective mode of unceasing prayer but I suspect that your priest would warn you against idolizing or worshiping thise icons. Just as the statuary is not meant to be worshiped but to be used as a mental reference of where in the spiritual realm to direct your petitions and concerns.

The pentacle or pentragram (the difference between the two is that the pentacle has a circle around the five point star, the pentagram doesn't) was actually originally a Kabbalistic symbol, said to have been given to King Solomon by the Archangel Uriel. It was used by Kabbalist mystics. During the Middle Ages the Church took it and turned it into a symbol standing for the five wounds of Christ. Then after the Renaisance during the Victorian era and the Inquisitions during the campaign to purge Europe of magic influence the pentacle/pentagram was denounced as evil by the Church and they stopped using it. The Hebrew mystics continued to use it however and it's still in use today by Kabbalist mystics and by orders like the Golden Dawn. In the 20th century it was adopted by the Wiccans as a symbol of the five elements (earth, air, fire, water, and spirit). Only recently when Anton LaVey created Satanism in the 1960s was the inverted pentagram turned into a Satanic symbol.
So to answer your question, I don't see why the pentacle can't be used by followers of Christ since technically you have the first claim on the symbol (after the Jews) although the Church will deny it like they have been ever since the Inquisitions when they denounced it and anything having to do with magic and mysticism as evil. Really the pentacle/pentagram can be a symbol of good or of evil...it all depends on the person using it. But the use of it as an evil symbol when inverted is very new...before that it was always a divine symbol, in every tradition that adopted it.

In the upright position the star represents a human with their arms out the side and their legs spread. The is surrender. The circle is the oldest magical symbol, no beginning no end, God, Universe, Nature, etc...etc. The pentacle in that aspect can be looked upon as a holy symbol. If you turn it upside then you make the “Goat Head”. So to answer your question, yes, I believe that you could use the “clean” pentacle to pray.

well you will offend many narrow minded christains by using something pagen to prey to Jesus with, even though nearly all if not all christain holidays have pagen roots. the satanic version of the pentacle is upside down with a goathead in the middle, just because a pentacle is upside down doesnt mean that its satanic. its kinda like a different view on divinity is all, more of a worldly knid if im not mistaken. lol im gonna keep checking back on this anser to see all the hate replies you get, even though you have a valid question
P.S. worship and believe however YOU want not because some else told you to do it in a certain way

The five pointed star has been known as
- official seal of the city of Jerusalem during the period 300-150 B.C.
- the Eastern Star, which is interpreted as being either the Morning Star or the Star of Bethlehem.

The pentacle is a sign of the perfection of man.
Although it is used primarily by pagans nowadays, if Jesus truly is the perfection of man, then it would OK for you to use a pentacle, no?

Only thing you need to pray to Christ is your mouth.
"Dear Lord...." That's it. Soetimes you can't even form the words to speak to Him, but even then, He knows your innermost thoughts; the Holy Spirit give utterance to them.

I wouldn't mess with it, you never know. Besides, why use artificial icons to pray to God or Jesus? Not needed, they each hear you just as well, perhaps better.
