Ok, I've got color-treated, permed long hair and of course the ends are fried, but we're talking at least 5 inches and I'm not ready to cut. I've tried Frizz-ease, too oily, mousses and gels, too crunchy, I always use conditioner, and good stuff too. I just want it to look shinier, but not wet or oily. Oh, I never use a hair dryer, so if the product requires drying, I can't use it either. Please help!

I would recommend a product by Redken called Anti-Snap. It's really great for damaged hair. Redken also makes a line of products called 'Extreme' that you may be interested in. (I don't work for redken, I just looove their products!)

However, if you really want your hair's condition to improve, the only real way is to trim it. If it's hard to let go of any length, do it in small stages...maybe an inch or so at a time. The hair's condition can never be restored since it's already dead.

Unfortunately the answer to your question is the one you don't want to deal with. That is, you are going to have to cut off those fried ends. Mainly, you need to get rid of them because they are serving no purpose but to add the"illusion" of longer hair. You yourself state that it is about 5 inches of hair which is fried. No product(s), no matter how expensive or great in quality can repair or offer a quick-fix to such extensive damage. These ends are DEAD and are furthering weakening what healthy hair you have. If you cut them your hair WILL grow and have REAL length and will also be healthier in strength and appearance.

Hm... there are an excellent type of straightening 'protectors' accessible. There are so creams that you'll put on your hair formerly you straighten it and it received't fry it a lot. fairly a lot something you do along with your hair it really is going to ruin it. everlasting straightening i imagine will damage your hair more effective than flat ironing it primary. you could also purchase diverse shampoo's and conditioners that restore your hair. Sunsilk i have realized works all precise. wish this helped.

You need to cut them off. It's hair, it grows back, get over it. It's essential to cut off ends so that your hair doesn't break.

if your ends are split, they are going to keep splitting. and they split at a faster rate than your hair grows, so please get them trimmed before you have to cut it all off.
