You question is very valid and should be discussed, but it seem completely left out of any discussion regarding Mexico.
It is easier for Mexican to blame the US for Mexico's failings. They have been doing it forever.
There are two basic reasons Mexico is a failure. One is in its history and the other is the ones in power like it the way it is.
On the history side, Mexico stayed a Stone age side where as the US went into the Iron age and continues advancing into the 21century. Mexico is to far back to advance now. They have no real economy nor are they innovative people. Actually no country under the Spanish colonies has been anything but Third World. Spain is just a bit better as it is under the EU. but not much.
Again, the ruling power which are made up of the same race of people like it that way.
It is ashame because Mexico has a lot of natural resources and in the best earth location.
There are some solutions but it would take our government to push for it. That's not going to happen as it is easier for our government to let our country be more like Mexico. That is why we have the problem we have.
If we can't get our govenment to do what is good for our country and its citizen why would anyone think Mexican govenment would for their citizens?
If you want to talk with educated Mexican in Mexico go the the travel section and ask a question regarding Mexico. Most speak/write in english. I have talked with a few regarding their current election. You get different points of view but all very polite. You won't get any good information about Mexican govenment in this catagory.

Mexico needs a Revolution and there is one boiling right now however the government is so bad and so huge and so corrupt that it will take time. Remember how long the American Revolution and Civil War took? Those were 20-30 years in the making and then several years as an actual fight.

Then Mexican public should stop voting for Mexican corrupt politicians. Even all together stop voting. Complete Anarchy! If only that was possible. Mexican politicians should stop focusing on traveling around the world and focus on building a job market in Mexico. A job market would not only decrease immigration but make Mexico a stronger country. The U.S. should focus on dealing with the immigration instead of creating half assed solutions. My ideas: more patroling on the borders, create work visas for Mexicans, and maybe help Mexico create its own market.

The Mexican government must view this as a problem. Right now they do not. Why would they? The money sent back to Mexico by illegals makes 11% of the economy.

the "problem" has been around since the boarder was formed ... so the "problem" is not as big a deal as it being made out to be lately ... there are other things on the political agenda trust me. Theres Real ID that will be implemented in 2008, theres rfid chips they want to put in every form of identification, theres a huge national database they want with everyones personal info able to be accessed from any terminal/police car/airport/toll booth by scanning their Real ID card .... this is what its reallyy about imo ... illegals are not affecting the economy enough to warrant the huge propaganda campaign against them ... that has to be a smoke screen because the biggest problem with the economy is our banking system and the federal reserve ... a problem that is all but forgotten in school textbooks and rarely if ever mentioned on the news ... and a rough guestimate is that it affects the economy about 1000 times more negatively than illegals ... the negative attitudes towards illegals has been instigated by propaganda in the media lately ... think about it ....

if you wanted to ask this on yahoo! mexico:
que necesidade suceder al gobierno Mexicano prevenir inmigracion ilegal?
To answer the question: I know many Americans will disagree with this but it is very hard for a nation of mainly poor and uneducated people living in isolated parts of the country to take over such a corrupted government and turn it into an "America". They do need help from outside sources.
Just my opinion. While I wish a revolt was easy, it would've happened already if it was. These people are NOT lazy and just giving up. Its just really, really hard, more than WE personally can understand. While our government isn't perfect, it does not compare to theirs at all.

If it is corrupt there is more to it than just Mexico! All Latin American goverments have some form of corruption, the English speaking ones too, like the U.S.A. and Canada, no one is inmune! The goverment must take care of the people so that they have no reason to leave.

Nothing needs to happen to the Mexican govt! Do you think they care what happens to Mexicans in the US? Why should they? Most Mexicans living in the US are speaking English after a while, becoming baseball players, or mayors of US cities.
