Well, if she is as smart as you appear to be (tooken, baught, cuzin?) I think her mom should do more than take away her cell phone for skipping class.

Well being that she is the minor living in her parents home, they have the right to do whatever they want, it's only for a couple of days, just leave it alone and it'll work itself out, she may have bought the phone and she may even pay for the bill, but she is under age and it has to be in an adults name under contract.

That is tough love, if mom thinks the phone was the cause of her missing class. The thing is though, sometimes we parents make mistakes, we don't have good judgement. I wouldn't taken the phone if the daughter is paying for it.

I would of just ground her, prohibit her of the phone calls. Many chores around the house. and make up for the class she missed.

How harsh!!

First "tooken" is not a word. Her mom should at least take her phone away! When she goes to class regularly (about six months) give the phone back. She should take it away for another six months if her grammar is as poor as yours is. She needs to get regular reports from her English teacher.

You must be a teenager who thinks that all parents are unfair. I'll tell you that if one my children pulled a stunt like that, not only would they have gotten their phone taken away but they would've got their butts busted and grounded for a month. Do you still think her punishement was too harsh?

No such word as "tooken." And, it's "bought" not "baught." It's really none of your business what goes on with your cousin and her mother, so my suggestion is to learn to spell and to butt out of things that don't concern you. This is one of them.

Tell her to suck it up! What difference should it make if she paid for the phone, she's obviously a minor who messed up and has to accept the consequences of her actions. Her parents are probably using what means the most to her to punish her and it's their right! Peace!

If she is cutting class and her spelling and grammar is as bad as yours, her mother made the right decision.
Cell phones are a PRIVILEGE, not a right, child.
