I'm not trying to offend anyone. As you all know Muslims believe Abraham, Moses, Isaac, Jesus, Mohammed are prophets of God. But some of my Christian friends, classmates and co-workers among them would say Jesus is son of God or Jesus is God. I'm just confused. Which one is correct?

I am really confused because they keep on changing their minds, once he is the son of God and once he is God himself ( Lord)..But i know the truth and only truth which is:
Jesus is a prophet like Mohammad is ( peace be upon them both)...That is it..A messenger of God ( Allah) nomore no less...

Both. Let me explain.

As I am sure you are aware, Christians believe that God Is a Trinity: Father, Son(Jesus), & Holy Spirit. There is not 3 gods. There Is Only 1 God. But, there are 3 Persons Who co-Exist in the 1 Godhead.

Jesus Is the Son Of the Father. Therefore, He Is Called the Son Of God, because the Father Is the First Person Of the Trinity.

As you can tell, there are many Christians do not know what it is they believe. This is because Bible teaching has been abandoned in favor of "fluffy" theology. By having such diverse opinions on the subject, it is easy to tell that many are just not discipled in their faith.

Allow me to share what the historic Christian faith teaches.

Jesus is the Son of God and He is God. This concept is known as the Trinity, which Muslims are told is a blasphemy. However, I will try to demonstrate why we believe that Jesus is God:

1) He received worship, which is only acceptable for God. "He said, "Lord, I do believe," and worshiped him." (John 9:38)

2) He applied the name of God to Himself in several passages. The most obvious in the English is: "Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly I tell you, before there was an Abraham, I am!" Here's a few other examples: Matthew 14:27, Mark 6:50, Mark 13:6, Luke 21:8, John 4:26, John 6:20, John 8:24, 28, and John 13:19. (Some translations will show the Greek for "I AM" to be translated in the English "It is I," or "I am He," and doesn't accurately reflect was was really being said.)

3) Other times He was accused of blasphemy because He forgave sins. For example, "Why does this man talk this way? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?" (Mark 2:7) And the religious leaders who asked this were correct. No one can forgive sins, but God alone.

4) He also claimed to be God's Son in Matthew 26:63-64, Luke 22:70, John 5:25, John 10:36, and John 11:4. In other places, others attributed this title to Him, but these are ones where Jesus claimed that for Himself.

In many cases, Jesus was nearly stoned for making these claims. Therefore, Jesus both implicitly and explicitly identified Himself as God. That was why they executed Him.

Jesus is the Son of God. Of course Jesus said we were all Gods children. So are we not all sons of God. I do not believe Jesus was God even tho I am a Christian. Some will say I am a heretic. But the Bible backs me up with more verses than they have. I believe Jesus was with God and volunteered to come and pay the price for our sins. He became an example of who God is. God was willing to let His son sacrifice Himself for us. Only by acknowledging that Jesus and God are two different beings can we realize the pain God felt and the sacrifice He made. Then we can understand dimly the extent of Gods love towards us.

Both are correct. Jesus is God. Jesus took on human form and was born of the Virgin Mary and became man, fully Divine and Fully Human. (This is the Christian belief in the Incarnation) so He is also the Son of God. As Christians, we see God as a Trinitarian God, God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit, three distinct persons in one God. All fully God and fully Divine.

I am christian but this is one of the things I kinda don't get either. Supposedly, Jesus is the son of God, sent from God to Earth to open the gates of heaven for all us sinners by sacrificing his life and dying on the cross to send the christian message across the world...(forgiveness, sacrifice, among other principles). At the same time, once Jesus Christ died he resurrected and joined God, as he deserved to do with all he has done.
One of the major Christian principles is the divine Trinity...God is made of God himself (i would say itself..since you can't have a gender if you're not a mortal species) who is the original being, the ultimate Good and creator of all things, of the Holy Spirit (also called the Holy Ghost, who's purpose I do not know) and of course Jesus, the sort of human form and reincarnation of God himself on earth.

Basically, first there was God, then God sent Jesus at some point, but it's like he sent a part of himself (itself) so Jesus is God, but more technically as far as describing it in terms of human relationships, he was his son (carrier of God's priniciples and God's messenger, as well as follower of His will).

Hope this helps, I am by no means educated on the matter...It is definitely more of a conceptual relationship between Jesus and God...not very clear to our human logic...Basically God and jesus are the same being, pretty much, yea.

Both. Jesus was God made flesh as the book of John, chapter 1 tells us. He is also the son of God, the second person of the trinity. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.

They're both correct. God is in 3. It's called the holy trinity. You see, God consists of: God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Father, son, and spirit. God is all 3 of those. Think of water. Water has 3 forms, liquid, solid, and a gas. That's exactly what God is in the Christian faith. Thank you for asking this question. It's good for people to know about other religions. I believe in Christ as my personal savior and I don't think anyone should be persecuted of their religion.

Jesus is the son of God, the Father.

Jesus refers to himself equally as the Son of Man and the Son of God. Many Christians ignore his claims of being the Son of Man and the bible says we are all sons/daughters of God. So your guess is good as the next person's.

You are confused only because Christianity is confused and fuzzy without much similarity in such matters between the tens of thousands of variations of Christianity. But, most Christians believe that Jesus was a god, not a prophet. That's important to them.
