Due 2 certain circumstances (dad getting job transfer), I have 2 move 2 indianapolis, IN in a month or 2. I'm in Cali rite now (high school senior). I'm taking all the AP classes...will my grades transfer to the high school in IN? Or should I go easy on myself since I won't be here for 2 long? My AP English teacher had given us HW (Ready 2 books & write 30 pg. report) to do over the summer? SHould I still do it? I know it'll affect my grade if I don't do it...but I don't know abt the education system in IN? Who do I call 2 find out? Do they offer AP classes there? I'm confused on what to do. Or should I move to IN now before school starts here even though schools started over there already? I'm gonna miss my friendz a lot...& the prom...& yearbook I had eagerly been waiting for. Plz give me sum advice on how 2 cope with this.

Yes, they definitely offer AP classes in Indiana. Even better, Indiana subsidizes certain AP tests, particularly math and science, so you pay less than $10 for each of these tests. Your grades will definitely be transferred to your new school. The best thing to get more information is to call the school you would potentially attend. I would move sooner rather than later, so that you can better integrate yourself into the new school.

I won't lie and say the transition won't be rough, but you can still make the best of the situation. The culture of Indiana could be a bit of a shock coming from California, but if you are flexible and intelligent, I'm sure you will adapt well.

You're grades will tranfer. You can get AP courses here. You should call the school you will be attending and talk to a counselor.

I transfered into my high school the last semester of my senior year, and I can understand how upset you might be. You'll have fun and hopefully make a couple of good friends. You can also look at it as your lost year before your life starts.

I too moved from Cali about 2 years ago now, I still miss Cali and all my friends but the lifestyle here is a lot slower paced and not as expensive. Best of luck to you and your future all will work out for you I'm sure.
I'm still having a hard time dealing with the weather, the humidity, rain after it hits 95 degrees, snow ugh! speed limit 55...so slow down! GL
