NEVER only eat one meal a day because all you would be doing is starving yourself, slowing your metabolism, lowering energy.
I have recently started eating healthier, and I have found that eating 5-6 small healthy meals a day is much better because you will get the proper nutrition and feel great. Try eating more whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and very lean meat. Avoid all sugars, bad carbs, and fast food for about 2 weeks and you will notice a BIG difference in your appearance and attitude. This will also help you break away from your bad habbits.
And if your trying to lose weight all you have to do is eat less calories than you burn. I know that is what everyone says and you are probably hoping for some other magical answer, but thats the truth. The website below will help you figure out how many calories you should consume daily. Also remember to drink lots of water, and get at least 30 minutes of exercise a day..it can be anything (walking, dancing, riding a bike, jump roping, swimming, ect.) just do what ever you find fun. Good luck :)

Go to www.deititian.com and complete their Healthy Body Calculator. You give it info on you and your lifestyle (i.e. your weight, current measurements, your activity level and how many hours a day you sleep, etc.) and you give it your goal (i.e. lose 2 pounds a week) and this calculator will give you how many calories, fat, carbs, fiber and sugar you can consume on a daily basis and lose your goal.
For example, I am 5 foot 8 inches, female, 28 and weigh 145 - I want to lose 2 pounds a week and I live only a lightly active lifestyle - I can have 1400 calories a day and lose 2 pounds a week. My husband can have 2200 a day and lose 2 lbs a week.
Remember, ALWAYS consume more than 1200 calories a day or else your body will start to shut down and it will think you are starving and will hold onto any fat stores.
You should eat 3 meals a day, this helps maintain your blood sugar levels and overall health. I am not a doctor, but I take this stuff pretty seriously -
You are in control of your health - The rules are simple and not as complex as so many fad diets would have you believe. Eat more calories than you burn and you gain weight, eat less than you burn, you will lose weight. So use this tool to figure out how much you should eat to reach you goal.
Good Luck - You can do it!!!

It sounds as if you want to lose weight? If you can get some exercise by all means do it. If you're a morning person, do it then, if you're a nite person, do it then, but do it! Walking is great or you can go to a club and do some cardio there, dvd's are easy to get online now too. Whatever it is you are going to do, start for 30 minutes slowly, and gradually work up to an hour, your body starts to burn fat after 20 minutes.
Your meals need to be healthy. Limit these foods to only once or twice a week: cheese, sodas, sweet treats, fast foods, fried foods. Do include fruits and veggies, yogurts, breakfast cereals (not the kiddie sweet ones). Your cardio will burn fat not build, it may tone some, but mostly burn the fat off.

You should definintely be eating at least 3 meals a day. Cutting out meals can actually slow your metabolism, and you won't burn as many calories. Eating right before bed is also a bad idea. You should eat your last meal at least 2 hours before bed. Try to fit in at least 30 minutes of exercise (walking, jogging, etc.) either first thing in the morning, or after your last meal. Choose balanced meals, including fruits, veggies, whole grains, and lean protein.

one meal is worse than 2 to 3 meals you should actually eat 5 or 6 lil meals lke snacks that way your body gets time to work it off, and you should cut out some carbs and fat. also even just a lil 30min walk a day will help you loose. a dietician told me these facts. do exercise a lil when get up like 20 mins, and lil b4 bed so body keeps burning while sleeping.
good luck i am dealing with the same battle!

The best time to exercise is at night, right before you go to bed. And actually, it is proven that people who eat 3 healthy meals a day, plus snacks tend to lose weight.

You should never lay down after eating a meal it can cause indegestion! Eating 6 small meals a day and watching you size porportions, eating fruits ,vegies, and protiens are very healthy> When people fast they actually can eat fruits and vegies! and they drink fruit juices and vegie juices at least 5 times a day! You need to find an execise program that fits into your daily plan and make it fun if it is not fun people tend to not stick with it!

well first of all what you are eating will affect how your body reacts. second are you going to do some form of exercise to keep your weight in balance.well as to what form of exercise is to walk alot. begin small like walking around your block a few times at a steady pace. but first check with your doctor to see what kind of shape your whole body is in. heart lungs and muscle tone. but most important start slow and work your way up. i walk about 20 kilometers a day so i stay in shape. but that is work related. work your way up slowly.

reduce amounts of what you eat ...
1).don't eat until your full...learn to save some room....the brain takes about 20 minutes after you eat to recognize that you're full
2) eat 4 or 5 smaller meals a day rather than 3 big meals
3) reduce / eliminate as much carbohydrates as possible .... (you don't have to eat everything LOW FAT... fat does a body good) no soda..chips...fried/crap food (this includes fast-food,french fries, fried chicken etc...)
4) have your blood tested to see if you have a thyroid problem\
supplements to diet : chromium, B complex
as much exercise as possible... i used to go to local hotel and climb the stairs 3 times a week....
